The first Tiny Buddha quote appeared on Twitter in 2008. Since then, the archives have grown to include over 1000 wisdom quotes, with new quotes added every weekday.
You can now embed a daily wisdom quote right on your site with the Tiny Buddha Quote Widget for WordPress.
This plugin will display the quote of the day from Monday through Friday. On Saturday and Sunday, the plugin will deliver a random quote from the Tiny Buddha archives.
12/21/11 UPDATE: The quote widget has been changed so that it now delivers a random quote from the Tiny Buddha archives each day.
Installation
1. Upload the file ‘tiny-buddha-quotes.zip’ via Plugins > Add New > Upload’ OR Upload the ‘tiny-buddha-quotes’ folder to the ‘/wp-content/plugins/’ directory via FTP.
2. Activate the plugin through the ‘Plugins’ menu in WordPress.
3. Enable the widget via Appearance > Widgets in your dashboard.
4. Enjoy!
Alternatively, you can place the template tag manually in your theme:

Found your site and liked what you are doing so I downloaded your widget yesterday. Got it working on my website (no WP) just fine with a little creativity. But today the quote hasn’t changed. Is there something preventing the link from getting a new quote?

The quote worked yesterday as I said, but today (7/7) it is still not updated. Is the daily update an automated process that I should expect by a certain time, or is it a manual one and I should just be cool?

The widget updates every 24 hours, but there can be variation depending on when you activated it and when the quote is updated on Tiny Buddha (which is the source of the quote).

Hiya, I’ve been trying to install the widget on WordPress, but unsuccessfully 🙁 When I go to Widget/Upload, it’s asking for a .zip file format. But when I select the file I downloaded from above, it shows all the other files that it contains: CSS, read me, Images, etc. I thought CSS would work, but no. I’m stuck… Does anyone have the same problem? I’m on Mac, not sure that’s a Mac issue.
I know you’ve figured this one out, but in case anyone is seeing a similar thing and needs guidance: sometimes downloaded ZIP files will automatically open up (I believe there was a recent change in Mac OS that does this) and it’s simply a matter of not opening or uncompressing the files, or recompressing the files into a ZIP, failing that.
Please disregard my question, I finally managed to install the plugging 🙂

Hi. I have the quote widget on two of my blog sites for the past year. It normally works fine, but for the past weeks, something seems awry. It is showing or a version of this on both of my blog sites. I didn’t see an update so decided I would check to see what else I may try.
