Hi friends! Happy Thanksgiving to those of you who celebrate.
I’m so grateful to all of you who share your experiences and insights on the blog, and to those who you who give your time and energy to help others in the comments and community forums. I am endlessly inspired by your openness, your empathy, and your kindness.
To celebrate this day, I gathered some of my favorite gratitude quotes (mostly from anonymous sources), and I’ve also put aside two copies of Tiny Buddha’s Gratitude Journal for a special giveaway.
About the Journal
Including questions and prompts pertaining to both your past and present, the journal will help you see your life through a new, more positive lens.
The book also includes fifteen coloring pages, depicting awesome things we often take for granted, like nature and music.
With space for written reflection, these pages provide all the benefits of coloring—including mindfulness and stress relief—and also guide you to recognize the beauty in the ordinary.
Whether you’ve been gratitude journaling for years or you’re just giving it a try for the first time, Tiny Buddha’s Gratitude Journal will help you access a state of inner peace, contentment, and joy.
The Giveaway
- To enter to win one of two free copies of Tiny Buddha’s Gratitude Journal, leave a comment below sharing something you’re grateful for today.
- For a second entry, share this post on one of your social media pages and include the link in a second comment.
You can enter until midnight, PST, on Thursday, November 30th.
If you’ve already received your copy, I would appreciate if you’d leave a review on Amazon here. It doesn’t need to be long—even a tiny review can make a big difference.
The Quotes
Yes, that last one is my own quote, so it’s probably kind of odd to include it in a list of my favorites. But I wanted to add this one in case you’re going through a tough time right now and not feeling all that grateful. Be good to yourself. Take care of yourself. And know that you are loved and appreciated.

Your quote resonated with me, Lori. My family & I have been in a bad place this past 18 months; we have to remember to be grateful that this “bad place” for us is still better than other people’s “good place”…it’s all perspective, right? I’m grateful you have brought this to my attention!
I’m grateful for my son who has Down Syndrome and is 30 years old. He lives in another town in a group home, works two jobs and has a busy life, yet he never fails to call me every morning and night.
I’m grateful for my immune system.I feel very sick today.Without it,I would have died a long time ago.
We are less than one month away from the one year anniversary of our house burning down. We are all healthy, had good insurance so didn’t suffer much financially and have made plans to move from Montana back to North Carolina next year. Everyone made it out without injury and we are still together and going strong. So much to be thankful for.
I am thankful for being alive!
I just lost a mentor who passed away yesterday. Today, I am sad for this loss. However, I am so incredibly grateful that I knew him. He was the closest thing I had to a father–and I got to share and walk a path for several years with a living legend who inspired me and shaped me in so many ways. I have been blessed by so many teachers in my life, but he was perhaps the greatest one.
He was a strong believer in reincarnation, so I have my eyes peeled for a very wise looking baby. <3
I’m thankful for the chance to do more and be more, every single day!
I am so thankful for my health
Recently I’ve injured my leg preventing me from walking properly which made me realise just how lucky and grateful I am for having them and being able to move around, which not everyone is fortunate enough to be able to do.
I’m grateful to have finally found my teaching home. ❤️?
Today I am grateful because I just discovered that I am waiting for a baby boy! He is arriving next spring. I hope my son will be a happy life warrior, ready to fight injustice and to support people in need.

I am grateful that my grandfather is home and healthy. I am grateful that my brother and sister in law have framily to celebrate with across the country in Seattle. I am grateful for both my husband’s and my family’s for hosting today’s celebration.
My mother has severe dementia. My son, brother and I take care of her daily and while it can be most trying, I am grateful that she is still with us. Today is a good day. She is aware of who we are and that it is Thanksgiving. A rare day indeed. Thanksgiving was always her ‘holiday’. She always cooked a huge meal for everyone to come and share. Now that honor has been passed to me. As I dig through old recipe books I am reminded of past Thanksgiving dinners as a child. The memories are dear and sometimes bittersweet. I wish my mom could remember them as well. So now I take life one day at a time, thankful for the moments when my mom remembers her life and that I am her daughter.
I am grateful for life. I was involved in a horrific MVA in February 2014 and passed away. I am here today because of the gift of my life. It has been a difficult road but one worth every step. I live each day as that… a gift.

I’m grateful for the tumultuous times I’ve gone through in the past 5 years to become a better husband, father, friend, and son. Hitting rock bottom isn’t the end; it’s the realization that there is more to experience in life and the opportunities are endless as long as you believe in yourself.

Today I am grateful for my brother who I don’t see very often. I opened my door to find him doing my garden for me after working all day doing other peoples gardens. While he finds it hard to show his love in traditional ways this was his way of saying I love you and for that I am truly grateful. It’s the little things we do for others that touch the heart and mean the
most and today I was reminded of that
I’m grateful for:
1 – Who I am.
2 – My Power of Choice.
3 – My Win-Win Relationships.
4 – My Mind, My Body.
5 – The Creator, my Creator

Sorority Sisters

Today I am thankful for the kindness of strangers in Minneapolis airport. I just witnessed one waitress serve an an entire cafe of people breakfast at rush hour on Thanksgiving morning. And instead of any person getting upset about their order being delayed or not getting their check exactly when they wanted it , every single customer went out of their way to share kind, compassionate words of gratitude and understanding with that hardworking waitress, who went from stressed out and worried, to utterly glowing. Grateful for you, holiday travelers! #lovemakesamericagreat #gratitude #kindness #lovingkindness #thankfuleveryday #happythanksgiving
