Tiny Wisdom: How You Know You’re on the Right Track

Buddha

“If you are never scared, embarrassed, or hurt, it means you never take chances.” -Julia Soul

If you think you may have made mistakes, you are probably on the right track. That means you’re doing things even though you’re not perfect at them, which is the only way to learn and grow.

If you think you may have looked stupid, you are probably on the right track. That means you’re letting yourself be vulnerable, which is the only way to fully experience something new.

If you think you may have said the wrong thing, you are probably on the right track. That means you’re talking to people you don’t feel completely comfortable around, which opens you up to new relationships and possibilities.

If you think you may have failed, you are probably on the right track. That means you put yourself out there, instead of waiting for the perfect time, which doesn’t actually exist.

If you think you may have blown your one opportunity, you are probably wrong.

This is what keeps us from taking risks: the fear that we may somehow suffer for trying and doing poorly. Not just that we’ll experience uncomfortable feelings, but that we’ll ruin our only chance.

We’ll have countless chances in our lives, if we’re willing to take them. We’ll have limitless possibilities to seize, if we remember all those uncomfortable feelings are worth the possible rewards.

Today if you find you feel scared, embarrassed, hurt, or vulnerable, remember: feelings eventually fade, but what you create in spite of them can change your life forever.

Today, I’ve been sad for a couple of hours because I was scared that I may be on a wrong road. I was afraid to take a chance, but I did. Things didn’t turn out the way I expected. I was feeling hurt, until having a talk to my mother and before reading this article. Now, I don’t feel hurt anymore. I feel stronger and happy that I took the chance, even if the answer wasn’t what I expected. At least, the “what if” is gone.

You are the sign, thank you very much! I won’t allow my apprehension and fears to conquer me. I’ll take another leap of faith.

This was a great post for me today. My career is inside sales and I’m young and don’t have years and years of experience. My team relys on me to produce (which I do) but I’ve had a lot of negatives lately, so it’s nice to see a message about being on the right track. Gives me motivation to keep moving forward instead of doubting myself and my ability 🙂

I agree, but I also think that it can mean you have low self-esteem or a self-confidence problem.

That’s great, Jen! It can be so tempting to questions ourselves solely because we’re feeling something uncomfortable. I know I’ve done it many times before. I’m glad this post was motivational for you!

I suspect most of us struggle with our self-esteem and confidence at least a little. I know that I do!

    Hey,  Tiny

I needed this message today. I just followed my intuition and closed down my old web site and am in the process of relaunching with more products etc. It did feel good to take a chance and actually see some energy moving….

I’m trying to stay focused on the process and not get attached to the outcome but it is hard in our western world!

    Hi, Tiny

This message is so important for me today. I am in the process of shutting down my original web site and bringing up a new one. I hope you and the other tea drinkers will love it while working on not being attached to the outcome.

This article has touch me. I am a student, in financial trouble, that might have to drop out of school due to financial reason and/or go to a community college to finish a degree that I originally did not plan to major in. I’m scared out of mind ( I don’t want to fail school) and I thinking that I am failing at life because I can’t get my loans by myself (I need a cosigner) and I don’t know anybody that could co-sign… But your articles is helping though it and I think I’ll just need to reread this articles a couple more times and try to find the good in the situation and find another plan, in life, to take.

    Thank you,

    M’Heeraw

p.s Great credit score, little credit history…hahah :/ I should have gotten my secure credit card when I turned 18 (using wisley of course) so I could have more of a good credit history.

I have realised that I am most of the descriptions above.Very unsure of some steps I take and feeling I have made mistakes.Even now I am not sure am doing the right thing I really feel scared that things are not working for me so thanks for helping me realise I am on the right track

You are so not a failure! Financing college is by no means easy. Also, I know a lot of people who went to community colleges and now have wonderful, satisfying careers. Conversely, I know a lot of people who went to expensive and/or Ivy League colleges and are now struggling. So please know your future isn’t doomed if you need to change schools. It sounds like you have a good head on your shoulders (I know that’s a cliche, but it’s true). I’m sure you will find your way, even if you need to change course a little.

I worked hard to get into a high school I thought would help me get to college. It wasn’t until recently I realized that the classes they have won’t actually get me anywhere close to my goal. I have been thinking about leaving the entire year but today I actually did transfer to the high school I was supposed to go to in the first place. I feel as if I made a very big mistake and that I won’t be able to succeed, and at the same time I feel like it was a good idea to switch before it’s too late. I don’t know what will happen to my future now, but this article gives me hope for the better.

  37. Lori Deschene Avatar

Hi Nadia ~ Congrats on your transfer. It sounds like you’re indeed on the right track! I’m glad this was helpful to you. =)

I just moved from Amarillo, Tx to Houston, Tx. Huge difference in everything. I met this person on-line moved in together and started going to church. Just trying our best to do whats right. Since then everything has gone wrong. Anything you can think of has happened. I am now alone here in Houston with nobody I know. Vehicle is not working no work because I cant get from place to place without a car. Im in a house we were renting with no furniture because she bailed out and left me to deal with this on my own. Now I feel i have lost everything and going back home humiliated is not an option.
