Remember, being happy doesn’t mean you have it all. It simply means you’re thankful for all you have.

The most beautiful things in life are not things. They’re people and places and memories and pictures. They’re feelings and moments and smiles and laughter.

I want to go on a road trip someday. Alone or with someone I love. I want to get away. Explore places. Sleep in the car. Stop a lot just to admire the view. Visit museums and try out coffee shops. Listen to my favorite albums while driving. Have a Polaroid camera. Take pretty pictures of the sunrise. Take pictures of myself. Run through a forest. Chase fog. Chase the sun. Spend hours on a field making flower crowns. Feel the wind in my hair. Buy souvenirs. Meet people. Take time to observe. I want to make memories. I want to feel alive.

Some people are empowered by travel and some are inspired by the warmth of home. Some thrive in the spotlight and some feel called to support those who are on stage. Some people are comfortable half-dressed and cussing like sailors and others prefer modesty and gentleness. The thing is: we are all empowered and inspired in different ways, and it’s not our job to decide what that looks like for anyone else.

Some days you feel good because you absolutely smashed everything on your to-do list. Other days you feel good because you managed to take a shower. Whichever it is, I hope you find something that makes you feel good today!

Watch the sunrise at least once a year, put a lot of marshmallows in your hot chocolate, lie on your back and look at the stars, never buy a coffee table you can’t put your feet on, never pass up a chance to jump on a trampoline, don’t overlook life’s small joys while searching for the big ones.

Some people could be given an entire field of roses and only see the thorns in it. Others could be given a single weed and only see the wildflower in it. Perception is a key component to gratitude. And gratitude a key component to joy.

If you are reading this, I wish you a day filled with kind people, lots of smiles, and unexpected blessings.

Six year olds laugh an average of 300 times a day. Adults only laugh 15-100 times a day. Be six again.

May your cup overflow with peace, love, and pure awesomeness today.

I don’t care much for things I can’t take with me after I die. Give me love. Moments. Purpose. Things that’ll settle in the soul.

If today gets difficult, remember the smell of coffee, the way sunlight bounces off a window, the sound of your favorite person’s laugh, the feeling when a song you love comes on, the color of the sky at dusk, and that we are here to take care of each other.

In the end, people will judge you anyway. So don’t live your life impressing others. Live your life impressing yourself.

I hope you live louder. I hope you laugh more. I hope you sing at the top of your lungs. I hope you drive with the windows down and let the wind rustle through your hair. I hope you hug. I hope you kiss. I hope you surround yourself with people who make you feel alive. I hope you become the type of person that brings good energy wherever you go, and the type of person people want to be around. I hope you speak what’s on your mind, that you raise your voice for injustice, that you tell others that you love them, instead of waiting until it’s too late. I hope you live louder, shine brighter. From this moment on.

The body heals with play, the mind heals with laughter, and the spirit heals with joy.

The best way to cheer yourself up is to try to cheer someone else up.

Pause and remember: If you empty yourself of yesterday’s sorrows, you will have much more room for today’s joy.

Count your rainbows, not your thunderstorms.

It’s oversimplified to say, ‘Happiness is a choice.’ Some people are struggling with depression, anxiety, PTSD, and other conditions that make it challenging to find peace and joy. But ‘challenging’ doesn’t mean impossible. It’s more accurate to say, ‘Happiness takes lots of choices that are sometimes hard to make.’ Like: the choice to accept ourselves and our struggles, the choice to take responsibility for getting help, and the choice to do the things that are good for us, even when—especially when—we feel like giving up.

There’s no such thing as what you ‘should’ be doing with your life. If you’re not holding yourself back from something you really want to try, and you enjoy the way you spend your day, then you’re a smashing success.
