Trauma survivors crave honesty and authenticity. We’ve had to fight for our ability to think clearly and know who we are. It’s cost us greatly. We aren’t willing to engage with those who do not honor that.

The black sheep is sometimes the only one telling the truth.

I love old souls, the daydreamers, the deep thinkers, with lots of fascinating layers. They don’t care what others think, they just do their own thing and when it comes to friends, its quality over quantity.

You will be too raw for some. You will be too loud, too big, too fierce, too quiet, too deep. These are not your people.

Some people are going to reject you simply because you shine too bright for them. That’s okay. Keep shining.

None of us are getting out of here alive, so stop treating yourself like an afterthought. Eat the delicious food. Walk in the sunshine. Jump in the ocean. Say the truth you’re carrying in your heart like hidden treasure. Be silly. Be kind. Be weird. There’s no time for anything else.

You deserve to be loved without having to hide the parts of yourself you think are unlovable.

I think something people need to understand is that others disliking you is not a bad thing. When you are embodying your true authentic self, it creates fear in people who still operate from the ego. If you want to grow, heal, and evolve you have to let go of wanting to be liked.

Oh, I don’t try to hide my weird. I like to wave it around. It scares off the boring people and it’s like a beacon for my fellow weirdos.

Be yourself. Weird, wonderful, sensitive, impulsive, crazy, mystical, vulnerable, lovable, magical and beautiful. The right people will adore you.

Some people are empowered by travel and some are inspired by the warmth of home. Some thrive in the spotlight and some feel called to support those who are on stage. Some people are comfortable half-dressed and cussing like sailors and others prefer modesty and gentleness. The thing is: we are all empowered and inspired in different ways, and it’s not our job to decide what that looks like for anyone else.

Be the reason someone still believes in magic, truth, authenticity, compassion, intelligent conversation, loyalty, courage, and love that doesn’t have an agenda.

I am an old soul. I love genuine kindness. I love compassion. I love poetry. I love soul connection. I love old books. I love deep conversations. I love depth. I love rawness.

I have a limited amount of time left on this planet, and I’m not gonna spend it being a watered down version of myself just so people can like me.

You’re right, I’m more than a little weird and a bit awkward. No, I don’t fit in and most people don’t understand me. But at least I’m being real and I think the world needs more people who are brave enough to be real.

You don’t need a ‘perfect relationship.’ All you need is someone who loves your weirdness, wants to spend time with you, and respects you.

Look at you! Healing those traumas, addressing those bad habits, holding yourself accountable, no longer seeking validation from others, and finally speaking your personal truth. Seriously, I applaud you! Growth gets messy, ugly, and painful, yet here you are growing. We see you!

I have fought a thousand battles, but I am still standing. I have cried a thousand tears, but I am still smiling. I have been broken, betrayed, abandoned, rejected, but I am still walking proud. I smile. I laugh. I live life without fear and when I love, I love hard. I am humble. I am beautiful. I am real. I am me.

Learn to be okay with people not knowing your side of the story. You have nothing to prove to anyone.

I’ve built more relationships with people by being open about my struggles than I ever could have pretending like I had it all together.
