Don’t waste your time and energy trying to convince people to value you. If you have to fight for their attention and respect, it’s time to move on.

Take a little time to be amazed by something you won’t enjoy unless you consciously choose to focus on it. See the things you can’t see when you’re rushing. Hear the things you can’t hear when you’re stressing. Get so caught up in your senses that everything else seems to stop for a moment—because things don’t actually stop. So we have to be the ones who do it.

So many messages telling those who are struggling to reach out. Fair enough, but part of what depression does is mutes your ability to reach. If you are NOT depressed and you see someone struggling, YOU reach out. If you don’t see someone who used to be around, YOU reach out.

When your bones are tired of carrying everyone else’s problems, and when your lungs are tired of breathing life into other people, return back home to yourself for a while. Shift your energy back inwards. Reunite with peace again.

You have no idea how many people there are in the world whose day could be made and their life changed for the better if someone would just look them in the eye, smile, and say, ‘Hello.’

The greatest gifts you can give someone are your time, your love, and your attention.

Talk less. Listen more. Feel deeper. Love better. Open your eyes. Experience life.

If you want to know someone’s mind, listen to their words. If you want to know their heart, watch their actions.

Be somebody who makes everybody feel like a somebody.

Never chase love, affection, or attention. If it isn’t given freely by another person, it isn’t worth having.

The greatest gift you can give yourself is a little bit of your own attention.

Everything in life comes to you as a teacher. Pay Attention. Learn quickly.

Attention is the rarest and purest form of generosity.

Give whatever you are doing and whoever you are with the gift of your attention.

The moment one gives close attention to anything, it becomes a mysterious, awesome, indescribably magnificent world in itself.

The most precious gift we can offer anyone is our attention. When mindfulness embraces those we love, they will bloom like flowers.

Do not give your attention to what others do or fail to do; give it to what you do or fail to do.
