I’ve been in my job 3 years. During that time I’ve been back stabbed by co workers. So I started to call in sick when I wasn’t. I have a chance to change my job but I’m afraid of the unknown. Maybe I’m making a mistake. Don’t know what to do.

I would say go for it! Who needs to be around terrible co-workers on a daily basis? Especially ones that make you not want to go to work!

But also … seeing that I don’t know the whole situation — maybe think about what you’d be giving up when you move from the job you hate to the one you could potentially love. Is it more or less money? Benefits? Vacation time? Is it as stable as the other one?

I’ve been a full-time creative for some time now so I have such scant experience in the 9-to-5 so maybe don’t listen to me at all :.)

It’s for nine months I then have the option of going back to old job. It’s full pay hours . I thought then I could find something else. But I won’t be on the clinical floor so I was thinking the nine months away could hurt my chances of getting a new job .

    Hi Sparkle,

I give Buddhist values based career advice for a living and am new to the TB forums. There are 8 career success principles I’ve learned from the Buddha. A couple of these may be helpful to you.  Warmly,

Marc – AKA The Cubicle Buddha

    You Are What You Believe

Take Personal Responsibility – Change Yourself First

    Cause And Effect Is Strict

Each Person Is A Buddha In Training

Assume Positive Intent – but don’t suffer fools, trolls and rotten apples

    Have A Heart Of Service

    Dialogue Is The Key

Be Bold/Be Humble courage, initiative, not false humility. know how loud to blow your own horn

Say What Needs To Be Said And Do What Needs To Be Done

    Continuously Improve Yourself

    Appreciate and Thank Others

Conclusion — Never Give Up/Advance with Joy – never give up on yourself, on your dreams

    Take Everything Lightly and Positively
