I wanted to wait a bit to respond to have another chance to meet and talk with her. She apparently had bad divorce from an abusive spouse. She’s not really interested in anything long-term, and, let’s just say that she has made changes to how she views herself, etc. that probably aren’t the greatest. Remember what I had said in the other thread, just about any woman of any value out here has already been spoken for.

Hard week last week. Put a lot of time in on preparations for stuff that was supposed to happen this coming week, and it all got canned. Wasted a good chunk of Saturday afternoon at a remote county site for a media thing, in case there were any questions, and wound up wasting ~4.5 hours at it.

Heck, couldn’t even find anyone to go out hunting with this weekend (opening weekend of pheasant season out here, and I really don’t have a vehicle suitable for going out into the wilderness). Also, managed to have a ~$1,750 Browning Citori shotgun slide out of its carrying case and smack the basement floor, at least it was only the butt plate that cracked.

Today, been experiencing stomach and digestive system upset. Massive amounts of acid being produced which does wonders for the lower digestive system.

    Dear XenopusTex:

A third woman is a non-option then. Wasted Saturday, cracked shotgun, no hunting this weekend… Last time you had a good time was that trip to Canada, not long ago. You had some pleasant interactions there (although not all). Well, Sunday- can you have some pleasant time the rest of this weekend?

Anita, was not feeling well today, digestive system issues. Supposed to help an acquaintance with moving… and got a call about office stuff.

    Will type more later.

    Dear XenopusTex:

I hope you feel well by the time you are reading this. Hope you sleep well. If I was your doctor, I would prescribe chamomile tea, way less work, having your mother move out and a loving relationship with a woman. In that order.

Hehe Anita, I hear that. Stomach etc. still not super happy, but livable.

Was dragging my rear this morning. Had ~12 cups of strong coffee today. Unfortunately, hit me about 8:00 PM :/

Need to get back to finding the time to be more introspective than I have been lately.

Seaisland is correct in many regards. I do have a tendency to ignore suggestions, especially the more upset I am. Perhaps it ties in with the history of input being that I was wrong for doing what I was doing no matter what I was doing.

Kath is correct that I do tend to have a lot of resentment. A good part of that comes from winding up covering for other people while they are more interested in doing other things. Now, eight years later, I don’t have many relationships. Angry at myself for putting so much time/effort into stuff when it ultimately does not appear to matter.

    Dear XenopusTex,
I like that you told your office colleagues that you didn’t have time! How did they react?

You said in the past that there are no theraphists in your town. What about in other towns close by? The reason I ask is that when I read your posts and especially your last one, I feel that you really need to talk about these kind of things with someone who can give you immediate feedback. Someone who is firmly on your side, because it looks to me like no one around you has had your back in a long while. Who also can train certain situations with you, like confronting your mother. If that is really not possible now I hope you will try finding a theraphist in the future.

I hope this post doesn’t offend you. I know it sucks when someone is giving advise that is not actually feaseble. I just don’t want you to give up on the idea too soon because you think theraphists are for lunatics only or something.

Peppermint, I don’t think that therapists are for lunatics.

The Western part of my state has been devoid of a lot of things for several years. The closest thing I can think of that we have in town is someone that I work with, who supposedly “fixes” addiction issues for defendants.

Closest town of any significance is ~120 miles away to the East and/or to the South (smaller than the one I live in). Closest town of any significance (depending on how you define significance) to the West is ~200-250 miles away. Closest town of significance to the North is ~140 miles away in Canada.

I think that the colleague was surprised. My time at the office has been up this week; hit 40 hours before this afternoon. Got assigned to help solve some problems, the previous person who was supposed to do so is the guy who is dating one of the women I had been interested in. Unsurprisingly, he was gone by about 5:30 every day this week.

Have given some serious thought to changing jobs.

    Dear XenopusTex:

I am guessing you are feeling better at this point? Good to read your attentive replies to individual members here!

Xenopus Tex–yes it was nice for you to notice that I took time to give you input……mostly I don’t like anita taken for granted–she spends a lot of time and energy on you.
By the way anita–doing good…. Hurricane hit my sea island hard 9 days ago….evacuated. got back 3 days ago. Got electricity back on today….my home is fine many in the neighborhood and county destroyed. There is no way only 10 months ago I could have gone thru what I did without serious PTSD and anxiety.
Therapy works….TEX…promise. Your problems are completely different from mine-but the fact that you spend so much time needing therapy instead of getting it is sad. I wish you well.

Anita, not exactly feeling much better, but figured that I probably should treat you folks with more respect.

Will type more later, on cellphone at office. At least I am listening to an organ transcription of the soundtrack to Conan the Barbarian 🙂

    Dear XenopusTex:

You wrote 10/10: “Hehe Anita, I hear that..” You wrote “Hehe”- how unlike you and how refreshing, an unusual to you lightness, light heartedness. I am excited at this change. And then, in the last post you wrote:”I probably should treat you folks with more respect.” So, now I am elated and hopeful: a … light hearted AND respectful XenopusTex? You made my evening!

Please excuse a note to Seaisland below, I hope it is okay with you (?)

    * Dear Seaisland: my goodness! Six days evacuated? A hurricane- never experienced a hurricane. For crying out loud! There is some storm here, Western Washington. Danger: trees falling on me. Thank you for caring- your comments are precious, make me feel really good inside. Be safe and congrats for the calm in the storm!

Sea: Glad you got power back so fast and that your house is fine. Being without infrastructure and housing sucks.

    Dear XenopusTex,

now I remember that you allready wrote that there is no therapist in your whole area before, sorry for bringing it up again. But now I won’t wonder about it anymore, so thank you for the explaination.

Thats a crazy workload! On the one hand I can totally understand if you resent the person who was supposed to solve this problem. On the other hand I think 5:30 (with the occasional exception) should be the time you go home, too! Would that be possible? Would that be something you would like or better a bit longer? Or maybe put in another way: how much time would you like to spend at work every week on average?
