okay i did get this far… not sure about posting, today is my first day… my main concern and interest is about QQQ how one (71yo m) may “become” a buddhist while living alone at home, having no relatives or significant other(s) in life QQQ… i have been devouring buddhist books and online research for about 3+ years, have a number of favorite writers, teachers, monks, nuns…
i live “in the country” in beautiful northeast oklahoma… the closest “zen” centers would be a couple of hours away in tulsa, OK or about 45min or so to the fayetteville, AR area… driving can be a painful experience at times, so distance and the issue of night driving are factors…
ditto, since receiving Buddhist teachings in the alone state… such things as meditation and postures are problematic due to medical and health which include pain centers in damaged spine and joints like shoulders and hips…
my dream is to see some and much more buddhist teachings and practice to the elderly who have many of the questions such as those above mentioned…
also, i love to communicate and write and such… so any people contacts are greatly appreciated!
unsure what happens after i hit enter here… so i am open to anyone responding… thank you so muchly…
Namaste!
