Hello Jasmine-3, Matt, Inky, and BenzRabbit, and everyone else who supported me way back in May 2014 when our German sherpherd dog Rook passed away. For some reason, I wanted to find and reread your replies and our conversations about my difficulty with meditation and mourning, and miraculously found it by doing a google search. I am thankful for Tiny Buddha for keeping such old posts. My original post was under “Tough Times”, and the title was “Meditation and Mourning”.
So, after rereading your replies to help me, I am in awe at your compassion to help others, including me. I am grateful for your support during that difficult time. If any of you are still here on the forum and see this, it would be great to hear from you and say hi!
So much has happened since then (ups and downs), but currently getting better at practicing stillness and letting thoughts go when they are not needed without being mad at myself. I’ve learned a lot about this from my tai chi instructor and Taoism, from books and videos of Thich Nhat Hanh and the Plum Village practice, and Eckhart Tolle. We still have Shasta, and another shepherd named Brush.
So, thank you Jasmine-3, Matt, Inky, and BenzRabbit, again. Please reply and let me know how you are.
Patricia

Hey, long time no see!! Yes, I am doing well. Glad you have more fur babies and are continuing spiritual practices and studies!
Update: All my kids (my life) are grown and flown. I am still typing away on Tiny Buddha. Took up running and am working on a writing project. My beloved cat Tubbs died, but haven’t been quite ready to adopt another enlightened being. Will gladly adopt my daughter’s cat Taco though if she ever can’t keep him.
Bright Blessings,
Inky

January 28, 2020 at 11:06 am #335528InkyParticipantHi Again,
No, I haven’t seen them in a while. Anita is still here though!!
If you put @ before their names they should get an email alert, I think. People have done that before and they might make a special guest appearance!
Good Luck!

Thank goodness Patricia (the original poster) also posted on the original post, so it was right there on the front page.
Patricia, thank you for sharing your sadness at its most intense. Your description of the perception we have at the moment of boundless awareness is beautiful and makes me remember the blessed time a number of years ago, when I felt the most lost and irocnically (looking back), the most primed to share that connection with life and energy.
The memory of reading your posts will no doubt in my mind be boggled by new experiences and memories. I have however bookmarked that thread (and will do the same with this thread) and am playfully wondering the circumstance during which I will read them again.
Love to all involved in your messages’ journey,
Gia.
