    Dear Emily and Hero!

Please say and do what you need to say and do so to keep your housing assistance coming in: rents are too high to afford without it, for a whole lot of people. So, if I understand correctly, you need a landlord who (1) will accept your low credit score and (2) who will be okay with you smoking weed in the apartment?

I learned from my current Ā apartment that no landlord is going to accept a tenant that smokes anything. So I am fighting to stay clean . This was the first time I was threatened with a lawyer and eviction . Smoking almost destroyed everything that I worked so hard for . Itā€™s just not for me . I have to find other ways to relieve stress .

My landlord told me that he has been patient enough with me . Iā€™ve been in this apartment since January Ā 2021 and so much has happened Iā€™ve had to quit jobs because they donā€™t work with my sons school schedule then denied unemployment after quitting bcuz of the lack of childcare Ā is not a good cause to leave a job then Ā had to accept a job that pays me 13 dollars a hour Ā just to pay bills . These things all have stressed me out .

The only good thing that has happened this year is the high school diploma which is going help increase my income I am no longer accepting 13 dollars a hour I cannot survive and enjoy life and raise a child with 13 dollars a hour . Itā€™s hard . Iā€™m done pretending its not Ā . And nobody is coming to save me So Iā€™m going to save myself . Iā€™ve started already by getting that diploma out the way and staying away from weed .

    Dear Hero:

Nobody is coming to save me So Iā€™m going to save myself . Iā€™ve started already by getting that diploma out the way and staying away from weed“- the words of a Hero, words that are inspiring me to think right now: how can I become a hero in my own life, today…?

I learned from my current Ā apartment that no landlord is going to accept a tenant that smokes anything… I have to find other ways to relieve stress“- again, words of a Hero: identifying the problem and pointing toward a solution.

I am no longer accepting 13 dollars an hour…Ā  Itā€™s hard . Iā€™m done pretending it’s not“- a Hero does not pretend it’s not hard, a hero faces what’s hard and .. gets her high school diploma and a better pay. Amazing, Hero: you are really and truly amazing!

    Dear Anita,

Do you think reaching out to legal aide for assistance with court is a good idea? I would have to let them know why I’m being evicted. I don’t know if that would put me in danger with child protective services. The only other option is to reach out to my housing assistance and let them know that in order for me to be financially prepared to move I would have to wait to receive my tax return in February or March. I don’t know what else to do.

I hope that the answer to this question is in this quote fromĀ  lawyers. com: “When you seek advice or representation from a lawyer, that lawyer is bound by strict standards of professional responsibility. Among other things, your lawyer must act in your best interests and keep your communications confidential. If your lawyer violates these rules, he or she can be disciplined or even face a legal malpractice suit…

“When you seek advice from an attorney about a legal matter, your private communications with your lawyer are protected by the attorney-client privilege. This means that your lawyer cannot reveal any information that you disclose to him or her in confidence, unless you give your express permission… The privilege does not, however, apply to communications for the purpose of committing a crime or an act of fraud. This is called the ā€œcrime-fraud exception.ā€ For example, if you tell your lawyer that you plan on murdering someone tomorrow, your lawyer can alert the authorities.”

Is the answer to your question in this quote?

Yes my question was answered. I havenā€™t committed a crime or a act of fraud . My child is safe . What we discuss would be
protected by the attorney-client privilege .

    Dear Hero:

I hope that you make an appointment with legal aid as soon as possible. You wrote earlier today: “I have a lot a growing to do”- you are growing, Hero, and you have been growing for a long time… this is why you are My Hero!

    Dear Hero:

A Hero makes better decisions today than yesterday, and better decisions tomorrow than today, slowly but surely getting out of the gooey mess of bad decisions and staying away.. one day at a time.

I thought when someoneĀ says I wish u the best ā€¦ theyā€™re ending a friendship. Glad you arenā€™t leaving. I enjoy chatting with you . I havenā€™t contacted legal aide I donā€™t think I am I feel like being forced to move is a consequence of my action. Things could have gotten so bad where child protective services could have been called on me and I could have been labeled as a unfit parent . Iā€™m glad that didnā€™t happen . Still moving when&where I donā€™t know yet .

    Dear Anita,

I have something else I want to talk about . So Im 31 turning 32 soon . The purpose of getting the Ged was to meet the requirements of a higher paying jobs . In the past Iā€™ve been a stay at home mom for the child with cerebral palsy Ā , Certified Nurse Assistant , Cashier, Security Officer(these jobs donā€™t fit my sons schedule) . Now currently a Pre school teacher/assistant for 9 months .

So the job that I end up doing would have to work around my sons school schedule .Pre school teacher pay is low an I work super hard 10 students to 1 or 2 adults . Sometimes itā€™s 1 teacher 10 students.

I was thinking of becoming a school bus driver Iā€™d have to become cdl trained Iā€™m Ā nervous Ā I never done it before . I donā€™t know what to do with my future but I donā€™t want minimum wage or to stress about finding childcare. This is hard .
