The U.S. No Child Left Behind Act of 2002-2015 was about providing more education opportunities for k-12 students, focusing on 4 key groups of students: students in poverty, students of color, students receiving special education services, and students who speak and understand limited English. It was replaced with Every Student Succeed Act signed by President Obama in 2015.

I am sad too that you were left behind, that no  one fought for you and that no one taught you the importance of education. So many children were left behind and are left behind in so many ways. I was one of many. The title of your thread is Letting it Out… if you need to let having been left behind more, please do.

You are very welcome and thank you for expressing your appreciation. And again, congratulations for earning your Ged in 2022!!!

I read that Chris Rock left high school early, then earned his Ged, next he attended community college (before pursuing comedy and acting). Another celebrity, Catherine Zeta Jones left high school at 15 for acting, won an Oscar and after that, she earned her Ged. There is a list of other celebrities who earned their Ged, as well as people who are no less important who did the same, such as Crisanto Luna (Texas) who at the age of 90 earned his Ged Diploma, and Marco Johnson (Alabama) who dropped out of high school at 16 when his mother died, and  earned his Ged Diploma while working as a middle school custodian, with the help and support of the faculty and students (Proliteracy. org), Jennifer (no last name provided) was bullied in high school to the point that she stopped attending classes and expelled for poor attendance. She earned her Ged, ““Getting my GED proved that I could accomplish a lot more in life.”, she said (ged. com).

“I didn’t and still don’t have a role model… I feel like I be suffering and struggling All the time. I guess I make bad decisions, and get bad results“- if you had a positive, emotionally healthy parent or role model when you were growing up, you would have gained the emotional resources it takes to make good, wise decisions.

For example, if you had a role model who modeled assertiveness (the ability to identify and voice your needs in ways that are most likely to get your needs met), you would have gained a very important emotional resource that would have made it possible for you to make good, wise decisions.

But without a role model, how were you to learn assertiveness and other skills that are so crucial to making good, wise decisions.. ?

“If I earned my diploma than that’s the last thing I remember about me” – I am not sure that I understand this sentence, can you explain it to me?

“I want an enjoyable life, like I’m excited to be on earth” – it would be nice to feel joy once in a while, more often than before, won’t it…?
