This article here really explains the thoughts that seem to come during depression –
I was wondering if anyone here also experienced these and some others too.

That’s a really great article, thank you!
I admit that a couple of those I thought were just my personality, not depression. Like wanting to being (mostly) alone!
There are some people though, who try to inflict #’s 1, 2, 5 and 6 in the article on you! They are the Real Life Dementors in our lives. Sometimes being alone is awesome until you can shed those types of people from your social tribe!
Best,
Inky

That is true. Some people do leave us with toxicity.
I agree about the idea of mostly being alone. I actually couldn’t differentiate in the beginning either.
When I got better, I understood that as an introvert, I liked solitude but enjoyed company of few people as well. When depression was happening, then even the company of those people ceased to feel good or even somewhat stimulating. Sort of like an ultimate disconnect from oneself and others too.

Thank you so much for sharing such a very useful article. I am facing depression at this moment and I haven’t been able to seek for help for some reasons. These few weeks my mind has been full of these 7 points the article mentioned. It really helps me of becoming aware of what I shouldn’t be listened.
So, thank you again.
Dee.

I am glad that helped. Hope you feel better soon. Lately I have been feeling a bit blue as well. Particularly since my mom’s health issues related to cancer. She has been upbeat, working away as usual as if nothing has happened but I admit I am a bit blue, worried. Still, what can be done anyway except to do whatever that is required to make the situation happy and bearable?

Although your note above is addressed to another member, this is your thread, so I think it is appropriate for me to address what you posted above:
I feel sadness over your struggle, your mother being sick. You shared before that you have always been close with her, if I remember correctly. And it seems like she is trying to appear strong, not to worry you- that is admirable, in my view.
Please share more about how you feel, maybe (?) it will help you… Sorry for your pain.

Well yeah, we are really close… Truth be said, its more of a shock I suppose. She has always made it a point to have a healthy life-style. That’s why I was more surprised at this sudden development but I suppose these things can happen no matter how many precautions we take.
Anyway, I will know more soon after meeting another specialist. I am kinda scared and worried but there is not much I can really do except help her out, stay calm and continue with my own work too somehow. It’s hard though. I find myself struggling not to slip back into negativity and anxiety about things.
Thanks for reading this and posting here.
Regards

Yes, a healthy lifestyle and precautions only increase our chances to be and remain healthy; no such guarantees. I hope she heals and I that you are as strong as you can be in a situation that is scary- the possibility of losing a person you love. I wish you and your mother the best and hope to read good news from you. Be strong, one day, one night at a time, make your life the best it can be.
