Tiny Wisdom: The Time is Now

“To be alive is to totally and openly participate in the simplicity and elegance of here and now.” -Donald Altman

We can find reasons to smile, if we look for the good in the now.
We can silence the thoughts that cause us pain, if we focus on what’s in front of us now.
We can change the things that aren’t working, if we make different choices now.
We can let go of the past and start from where we are, if we realize we’re free in the now.
We can be the people we want to be. The only time to do it is now.

Oh, wow.  I love this quote.  Could not agree more!

I love getting my daily emails.  It keeps me positive in stressful times.  As a single mom of three rapidly growing boys, sometimes it’s hard to keep my sanity.   Thank you for the little reminder to breathe.

Would love to receive a copy of Donald Altman’s book.  Great thoughts on mindfulness vs. distraction–something I am constantly striving for.

Hi, Lori:  Would love to receive a copy of Donald Altman’s book.  And as far as today’s post goes, I always find small steps the easiest and most effective way to achieve, “if not now, when?”

Namaste,
Marian

The concept of mindfulness is a difficult thing for me. Being a perfectionist I am constantly regretting the past and worrying about the future. I am slowly realizing that “now” is all we have to work with! If not now, when?

Dear Lori,
I am in the midst of several changes in my life and i face many many resistant blockades each moment i lose my connection with what matters now. Reading your post which is like a momentary reminder note, is of great help. I also would love to have a copy of Altman’s book 🙂

Lori Deschene

I’m glad this helped you with your blockades. Donald’s book is great–such a simple but powerful idea!
