    Dear Anita

I feel like this forum has been a journal of how far I’ve come and how much I’ve discovered myself. I feel like life is a discovery process and like you said to take it one step at a time.

I am hoping to be more aware in nature because I love learning about the different things there. I think I might start a nature observation journal and start writing down things and learning about them. My ecological principles lab and ecological statistics professors are always telling students to be inspired by the world around them. I feel like the more I explore the more I start to see the wonder of being connected to nature.

My farm friend christine got me a gender identity journal with different prompts and i enjoy them. I find it helps me get more in contact with my feelings and put them in organized manner.

I love how you organized the posts I’ve written and pulled quotes and your insightful comments. Hugs Anita.

    Dear Anita

Most of those threads were written around 2015-2016, seven years ago. I think they’ve just faded out with time in replies. I feel like those threads were just posts in the moment when I was struggling with myself and now over the years I have been working on my mental health and have much clearer purpose. I really like the Forsythe wildlife refuge in galloway, nj close to stockton and they have summer internships this year so I’m thinking of applying.

    Dear Anita

The spacing went awry when I posted 😅

I have been looking through the forums and the Tough Times tab forums have some lgbtq posts. I think that there’s some lgbtq mental health being brought to awareness on tiny buddha. I agree that it’s great talking with you on “Too Criticizing of Myself” forum but having a forum topic for lgbtq resources would be helpful.

I couldn’t find any resources on how to change the forum title but if it could be changed I think ” Healing the Inner Critic and LGBTQ discovery journey ” would be a great title.

I got diagnosed with gender dysphoria from a nurse practitioner in 2018 and talking to gender therapists and connecting with trans communities has been helping me.

I think i’ll start a new thread on lgbtq resources. Hugs and thanks for your advice.

I started posting a closing reflection on my forums seven years ago that are now pretty much inactive. Forums “Lost in Life,” “Overcoming Doubts and Fears,” “Dreams and Goals,” “Transgender and Gender Dysphoria,” and “Gender and Personal Identity.”

wow seven years have passed since I last posted in this forum. My gender journey hasn’t been easy but I feel more clear about myself. Taking time to explore resources over the years, expressing myself as a guy and talking with a gender therapist helped me realize that I felt something that was missing had been found. I realized that I was much happier presenting as a guy, working on letting go of gender stereotypes. I got diagnosed with gender dysphoria in 2018 and gender therapist and counseling has been helping.

wow seven years have passed since the last post on this thread🥺

In that span of time I’ve taken time to reassess my goals and myself. I love watching Dara Hoffman-Fox’s videos on “Asking a Gender Therapist. ” In my college years starting 2019 I started finding myself and letting go of trying to fit into the box of stereotypes. I joined the Transcendence group at Stockton and met some gender non-conforming people. I realized that I feel comfortable as a guy and spent time with a gender therapist over the years which has helped me build my self-love. I loved having Transcendence group people friends where I could be myself.

I have definitely worked on letting go, healing and reconnecting with people that I love deeply building my confidence. It is better to tell them that you love them rather than wait until it’s too late. Even if they might not feel as you do, knowing love is better than not loving at all. Love makes the world more colorful and helps your soul’s light shine.

Much love and healing hugs all

Wow seven years have passed since I posted in this topic🥺

I went to a nurse practitioner in 2018 who helped me work on building my nutritional health. 2019-2020, I had nutritionists and counselors helping me work on workouts and meal plans. I think that 2022 and the start of 2023 being at stockton I’ve grown and healed lots from things.

Hugs all, reminding you all that you’re special 🧡

Wow, reading over my post eight years have passed🥺

I still struggle with building my self-confidence but taking little steps along the way.

I got my reiki certificate in 2021 and my friend and I have been working on a wiccan site currently. We started it in 2018 and have been learning new things and editing things on the site.

My parents and I still struggle to see eye-to-eye on many things and I’ve learned to be okay with it. I spent some time working on my mental health and have been establishing a daily meditation routine 😌

I love being out in nature, learning about the plants and wildlife. Ecology and Pine Barrens courses were my favorite at Stockton. I have decided to pursue biology and environmental science with a career path working as a naturalist for the njdep or helping with environmental sustainability and resources for nj fisheries and wildlife.

I feel like I have a better sense of purpose in my life.

    Dear Anita

Another interesting article ” ‘Even If You Go to the Skies, We’ll Find You’ – LGBT People in Afghanistan After the Taliban Takeover. ” from human rights watch where they interviewed 60 LGBT Afghans from Oct. 2021 to December 2021. Many LGBT people were assaulted and threatened in Afghanistan. Life in Afghanistan before Taliban takeover wasn’t easy for LGBT people either,  in 2018 the government passed a law that criminalized same-sex marriage.

Under the Taliban same-sex relationships have gotten more extreme with punishments.

The Taliban declares “For homosexuals, there can only be two punishments: either stoning, or he must stand behind a wall that will fall down on him.”

I do hope that LGBT people in places like African countries, Middle East and some parts of Europe like Poland and Hungary find refuge and safe spaces. Asia doesn’t really acknowledge LGBT people, there are many trans people whose families don’t accept them and it’s very hard to get gender transitioning resources in Asian countries. The LGBT group in Beijing was created in 1990 but it still has a long way to go before helping people receive equal rights.
