In those moments of uncertainty and doubt, it’s belief that can help us to remain calm. Indeed, we should all adapt the principle of not waiting for 100% information. Delaying action carries so much of opportunity cost that it’s not worth it.
Have you read the letter from Jeff Bezos to the Amazon shareholders, Lori? Jeff professes how they believe in acting when they have 70% of information at hand. Similarly, every life decision we make carries a risk and we need to get comfortable with not having absolute certainty. What do you think?
I haven’t read that, actually, but now I’m going to! I couldn’t agree more. Action always carries risk, and we’ll never feel we know everything we need to know to make the ‘right’ choice. There comes a point in time when we just need to choose and have faith in our instincts and our ability to make the best of whatever may happen.
