Do you remember in December when I threw a Twitter party to celebrate the launch of my book, Tiny Buddha: Simple Wisdom for Life’s Hard Questions?
No? You’re not the only one!
I didn’t spread the word very well, so I’ve decided to do it again, with the help of Karl from Party Biz Connect and my friend Mastin from The Daily Love.
This time the party will support one of my favorite charities; and to make it even more exciting, I’m going to offer the Peace and Purpose Bonus Pack (valued at more than $150) to anyone who purchases my book on the day of the event.
Why I Am Throwing Another Twitter Party
- It’s a fun, free teleseminar event that allows me to share a little about my book, Tiny Buddha: Simple Wisdom for Life’s Hard Questions, and also answer any questions you may have
- It provides a second opportunity for anyone who missed the pre-order promotion to claim more than $150 in free digital bonus items
- It’s a great opportunity to give away some cool prizes (including 2 mentoring sessions, 5 copies of my book, and 3 copies of the award-winning Project Happiness DVD)
- It’s an ideal way to promote my book while supporting a good cause; for every tweet with the #TinyBuddhaBook hashtag during this event, I will donate 5 cents to Project Happiness, a charitable organization that brings emotional resilience-building programs to schools around the world.
When is the event?
The Twitter party will take place on Tuesday, February 21, 2012 at 5:30pm PST/8:30pm EST
Who Will Be Involved?
I will be on the call with Karl from Party Biz Connect and my friend Mastin Kipp, founder of The Daily Love
How Will It Work?
Karl from @partybizconnect will be hosting on Twitter. I will be on the call with Mastin, talking about my book and answering questions people tweet—meaning I won’t actually be tweeting during the event. (I don’t excel at multitasking!) I will, however, be available through @lori_deschene after the event.
What’s the Number to Call?
At 5:30pm PST/8:30pm EST on Tuesday, February 21st, call 1-712-432-0900 and enter the access code 758266. Follow along and play at Tweet Grid, Twitter Search or Tweet Chat. Join the party using the hashtag #TinyBuddhaBook.
What about the Bonus Items?
As you may recall, last year I offered “The Peace and Purpose Bonus Pack,” with $150 in workbooks, meditations, and other items, as a free gift to anyone who pre-ordered before December 8th.
I am re-launching this promotion for one-day only, on Tuesday, February 21, 2012. Anyone who orders Tiny Buddha: Simple Wisdom for Life’s Hard Questions on the 21st can receive the bonus files by forwarding their purchase confirmation email to bookbonus(AT)tinybuddha(DOT)com.
What If You Already Purchased My Book?
If you missed the original bonus offer, but already purchased my book, you can either buy a copy for friend now to retrieve the bonus files—or you can write a review for my book on Amazon.com and send the link to me at email(AT)tinybuddha(DOT)com.
You are by not obligated to write anything specific. Anyone who provides their honest feedback can receive the bonus files.

If this site is not about you, but “about us” (as you write), and you are also practicing
openness (one of the articles on this site), how about disclosing the financial gains and losses you have
with all the advertising and visitors on this site? There is nothing
mean spirited in this simple question. I look forward to your reply.
Hi Morita! I just responded to this comment on two other blog posts, so I’m sure you’ve already received those in your inbox. Still, I’m happy to expand here as well.
The reality is that I earn very little through advertising on this site. After the monthly server cost, the cost of sending the email newsletters, and the money I pay to my designer and coder, it comes out to less than $8/hour for the time I put in. This is largely because I have chosen not to monetize in the traditional ways other bloggers do (coaching, eCourses, etc). I haven’t done things the way I have because I am against making money (we all need money to live!) I’m just against doing things I’m not passionate about, and I simply don’t care to do those things.
I may make choices in the future that result in higher earnings. But if I stay true to my values as Tiny Buddha grows, which I have every intention of doing, you can be sure my decision’s about the site and the brand will never be guided by the pursuit of wealth. That’s simply not why I do this.
I do this because I truly love it. I do this because running this site and engaging with the community means something to me. Knowing people means something to me, and I would love to know more about you. If you’d like to email me at email(AT)tinybuddha(DOT)com and share a little more about yourself, I would appreciate that. =)
I’m disappointed that I won’t be able to participate — it starts at 9:30 p.m. Atlantic time, which is too late for this gal who gets up before 6 a.m. 🙁
When you plan future ones, can you make them earlier so us East Coast Canadians can join in too?
Absolutely Dawna! I chose 5:30 because I wanted to make sure people in my neck of the woods would be out of work, but I will choose a different time next time. Incidentally, I am doing a webinar tomorrow at 11:00 AM PST that you might be able to join: http://community.friendshealthconnection.org/pg/event_calendar/view/32445
Have a wonderful evening!

Lori – I read here often, but tend to lurk and not comment.
Today, though, I have nominated you for the Versatile Blogger Award. =)
You can find my post here –

Thank you so much Shan! I’m so honored that you nominated me. =) I love what you wrote about learning to adapt, and that when life needs more of you, writing can do with less. This is something I’ve been learning too!
