Since I launched tinybuddha.com in September of 2009, I’ve hosted quite a few giveaways for books that moved me.
Today is a very exciting day for me—one that’s a year in a half in the making: Today I am giving away five free copies of my book.
If you’ve been reading for a while, you may think I’m referring to my book about life’s hardest questions, which Conari Press will publish at the end of this year.
This book is something altogether different.
Tiny Buddha’s Handbook for Peace & Happiness is the ultimate guide of Tiny Buddha wisdom, based on some of my most powerful, popular posts and quotes from the site.
You’ll also find five posts not previously published on tinybuddha.com.
With 161 pages, Tiny Buddha’s Handbook for Peace & Happiness explores concepts essential to loving yourself, your relationships, and your life.
According to feedback throughout the site, the content has helped readers:
- Feel a sense of empowerment to make positive changes in their lives
- Accept and love their authentic selves
- Depend less on external approval for happiness
- Experience a greater sense of happiness in the present moment
- Move on from painful events to feel joy again
- Let go of negative feelings, attachments, fears, worries, and stresses
- Stay present and peaceful, even when dealing with uncertainty
- Create and maintain peaceful, loving, meaningful relationships
- Deal with difficult or negative people
- Slow down while still achieving goals
- Find the courage to start pursuing meaningful work
- Create and seek new possibilities for excitement and adventure
- Overcome obstacles, mental blocks, and criticism to seize dreams
I’ve categorized the posts into the following sections:
- Developing Self-Love
- Happiness and Mindfulness
- Letting Go and Letting Peace In
- Maintaining Healthy Relationships
- Reconciling Busyness and Happiness
- Creating the Life You Visualize
Through this eBook, I’ve shared myself authentically and vulnerably. I have also offered countless action-oriented suggestions to improve your state of mind, and in doing so, change your life.
These are my most popular, value-packed posts, as viewed by over a million readers in the last year and a half, hand-picked and edited into one easy-to-access PDF file.

I’ve devoted thousands of hours to Tiny Buddha, and I’m grateful for every one of them. While I’ve consistently emphasized that Tiny Buddha is not about me—it’s about us—I put my whole heart into running this site, writing my contributions, and editing the posts readers that submit.

Your blog already helps me – and countless others. I share your gems with the world on an almost daily basis.
However, I’m in the tender time between “no longer” and “not yet”. Inspiration that I can hold in the palm of my hand, courtesy of your book – no matter where I am – would mean a lot.
It is so wonderful that all of your post will be in one book. I would love to win
Nice giveaway, I would love to win
Well done Lori! Reading your weekly emails is very refreshing form me and the fact that you work towards an E-book is more than inspiring. I would be very happy to win one of course, but if not, do you plan a hard-copy edition too?

Two days ago a cancer diagnosis rocked my world. Today, I’ve realised: I’m still here. The show isn’t over yet, and I will be allowed to be ringmaster to the extent that I want or desire to be.

I am happy because my husband is spending the day with my mother who is terminally ill with ALS/Lou Gehrig’s disease. Usually – my Dad is with her on Mondays but his part-time retirement job asked him to work today and so my husband is spending an extra day with Mom to make sure she’s safe and well, to get her meds and her tube feeding taken care of and to make sure she doesn’t fall. He is my blessing and his willingness to help out today makes my heart soar!

Today something that made me happy was watching my 4-year-old create a little hideaway under a chair with blankets, pillows, and books.
It’s interesting how happiness can attract itself. As I stood in the copy room this morning waiting for my coffee to reheat in the microwave, I contemplated what I could post here. I was having a difficult time coming up with the happiest event for me this morning. This was until my coworker, noticing the steaming hot coffee mug and my little hands struggling to transport it back to my office from the copy room, ran down the corridor to lighten my load. He took the piping hot coffee mug to my desk. There of course came my smile. Even if I do not win this book today, I just want to say thank you for encouraging me to place my energy on happy thoughts.
A friend gave me a bunch of purple tulips. I smell spring!
The gorgeous sunrise this morning. It reminded me of just how beautiful this gift of life is, and reminded me to be more present as I was rushing to get things done this morning.

Today is my birthday. Hasn’t been the greatest one so far – most people, even close friends, seem to have completely forgotten and on days like today, I still grieve for a loved one long passed.
But I have a loving family, who do the best they can, even when things aren’t so great. My mother especially. My mother makes me happy.

This is what made my morning start off great! (:
