When I first found Molly Hahn’s Buddha Doodles a few years back, I knew I’d stumbled upon something special.
Her whimsical illustrations never failed to put a smile on my face, and they often came with just the message I needed to read on a given day.
I was even more enthralled when I learned about Molly’s background, and why she started Buddha Doodles.
Having endured a traumatic childhood, she began her meditative sketch practice as part of her healing process. And I, along with hundreds of thousands of other fans, couldn’t be more grateful that she did.
“Light in heart but deep in intent,” as she writes, her illustrations uplift, inspire, and empower us all to be wiser, happier, more mindful people.
With ninety-six color pages, Buddha Doodles: Imagine the Possibilities would make a wonderful gift book or addition to your own library.
To enter to win one of four free copies, leave a comment below sharing something that inspires you—a quote, a personality trait, an act you recently witnessed, anything!

Buddha doodles inspire me because I see them when I am most meant to see them. They are a lighthearted reminder to be friendly to ourselves and have mercy to others. Thank you Buddha doodles!

Buddha Bless to all
We turn our poison into medicine. For some it arrives simply other’s its like climbing the Hemalayas on a cold winter day….but you know what? it’s possible. Weather young or old words, sounds, sight ,memory is a fuel even what causes the suffering so we can give testimony of our practice and Faith in it.
Life is suffering and it is how we handle that suffering to overcome.
Thank you Buddha Bless

I recently read The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle and find it to be one of the most important writings available for most people to read. If I were in charge of creating a new religious text, The Power of Now would be my first book to follow.
If I were to have a chance to pick another, book two would be A Fresh Cup of Tolerance by Dr. Tom Norris. It focuses on Universalism: The New Religion of Tolerance.
Check ’em out!

I am inspired by people who have gone through some horrific things but come out on the other side greatful and full of life. I try to live by their example. If they can endure terrible pain and suffering and learn and heal and become better then I can too. I would love a book.
I have been finding the daily teachings of the Secret to be highly inspirational and motivational!
“Keep walking though there’s no place to get to.
Don’t try to see through distances.
That’s not for human beings. Move within,
But don’t move the way fear makes you move.” -Rumi
I started running marathons after cancer and a double mastectomy 13 years ago.
This Rumi quote speaks to me in many ways; sometimes I substitute “running” for walking.
I especially like not moving the way fear make you move. In my life, that’s one of my priorities. Good advice for so many situations.
What inspires me? My children, my yoga, my (slow) understanding of my higher self. <3

Recently I saw a women bringing a homeless man a blanket while he was hobbling down the streets on crutches on a cold day here in Birmingham, AL while on my way to work. I was to touched and inspired that I did the same later that day for another person.
I was at Target with my daughter the other day. The girl in front of us overheard my daughter asking for a Starbucks and me telling her, “not this time”. As I was paying, the girls who overheard my daughter handed her a $5 bill and said, “buy yourself a Starbucks”. My daughter was floored. She said, “that girl is like Jesus”.
“Hang out with people who are capable of making a commitment to you and your life, and who require that you make a commitment to theirs. Hang out with people who care about you, with people who need you to develop and who say so. Make such a commitment and don’t break that bond until you and all beings are perfect.” ~ Reb Anderson
I love Rumi 🙂
Be kind to every living thing

Something I always remember, thus I make sure I’m never bored. ^.^
Home Health caregivers and family members who take care of dependent and/or dying people. This is often such a physical and emotional demanding job, with no expectation of instant gratification or reward. This act defines what it means to me to be a human living on this planet right now, selflessly serving others.
I recently stumbled across this quote…”sometimes the best thing you can do is not think, not wonder, not obsess. Just breathe and have faith that everything will work out for the best”
This quote: “Suddenly, all my ancestors are behind me. ‘Be still,’ they say, ‘Watch and listen, you are the results of the love of thousands.'” 🙂
I’m inspired by the creativity I see daily in my fellow humans…the brilliantly innovative thought and action that truly seems divine to me. And today I see it in these charming Buddha Doodles…so brilliant!
“A ship is safe in harbor, but that’s not what ships are for.” William Shedd
I’m inspired by being authentic. Being able to express one true self if not only giving the world what God has created you to be but also frees yourself emotionally and mentally from bondages like social expectations. It required courage and ability to be open with others view upon oneself
I tend to adopt new mantras as they appear in my life in a relevant way. It helps me to keep focus in my bustling life as a special education teacher and a mom and reminds me that I am a but a speck in a vast universe of energy and creation.
Lately, my mantra has been, “As above, so below. As within, so with out.”
What we choose to see in ourselves is what the universe brings to us. I choose positivity and peace. 🙂
Love Tiny Buddha. The right message at the right time. I have gained so much. Thank you
I love the surf image! I took my 2 daughters surfing Xmas day, and we kept saying “Give up, Give in, or Give it all you’ve got!” ♥
My daughter inspires me
This quote has always inspired me to remember who I really am: “Only from the heart can you touch the sky.”― Rumi
“To the mind that is still, the whole universe surrenders” – Laozi
When your lost and on your own you can Never Surrender ❤️
I just finished watched The Tree of Life, and I can relate so much with the movie. By witnessing experiences from the characters’ point of views, complimented with rich visual of the happenings of the universe, it reminds me of my mere existence; that there is so much wonderful, magical thing in this world and instead of dealing with negative people and their doings, the beauty is where I should focus myself into 🙂
You may have had unfair things happen, but know that the depth of your pain is an indication of the height of your future
This quote found me when I really needed it!! I saved it on my phone and refer back to it often
The elevator is out you will have to take the stairs, one step at a time.
Inspired by moving forward even though at times I feel I’ve taken a step back. Usually I find stepping back gives me a new perspective
I am constantly inspired by those who, like me, are sober/clean. It’s not easy but with the love and compassion I give and receive I find hope and inspiration to continue on my journey of freedom.
My grandmother inspired me, she was always truthful, kind and giving. Expecting nothing from anyone and giving all she had to make others happy. Working with my son who struggles with ADHD is certainly a challenge but she as well as he has inspired me to see that there are always other ways to accomplish things and the best lessons may take time. Learn to stay positive through it all.
Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could. Some blunders and absurdities have crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day; you shall begin it serenely and with too high a spirit to be encumbered with your old nonsense. -Ralph Waldo Emerson
I love this quote more as time goes by. It reminds me not to get so attached to outcome or to overstate my mistakes. Honestly, I am not a brain surgeon or an airline pilot. I sit in a cube most of the day doing me best and sometimes my best falls short of my expectations. Remembering that every day is a new experience, that the present moment is the only moment in which I can do anything, helps me get past days when things aren’t going my way or the way I think they should. If I breathe and wait, a new day will dawn. A new opportunity. A new moment that need not be negatively impacted by the day before. I can come at it again with new energy and “too high a spirit to be encumbered” by my nonsense. 🙂
I listen to this speech (Eric Thomas – How Bad Do You Want It) before workouts and presentations.
“When you want to succeed as bad as you want to breathe then you’ll be successful.”
Inspired by those who live the life they profess. Those who walk the walk.
