I had been experiencing chronic constipation since childhood. Tried a lot of medicines and each one would stop working after a while. So I took onto some natural things that really really helped me beat it…
Here we go:
1) Flaxseeds:
Flaxseeds are rich in omega 3. A spoonful of these seeds twice per day after each meal helps digest the food. I personally didn’t like to chew the seeds so; another way out is to roast them a little bit to make it completely dry, grind it, store this powder and take a spoonful twice per day.
2) Each morning some abdominal exercises. I prefer to do Yoga as I’m not a gym person.
3) Early to bed, early to rise
I had been doing night shifts for 3 years and due to this I used to face chronic constipation. Since I took up on regular day job, I can count on fingers the times I had to take medicine to pooh..:-) in the past 6 months.
4) Drink a lot of water:
Especially one hour after the meal. Avoid drinking water right before and after the meals.
Drinking water after the bath, before going off to sleep and while waking up helps a lot.
5) A fruit bowl per day is a must – is what I’m following currently too.
