If you have ever experienced a transcendant moment, when you forget all your petty concerns. Like in a movie for instance or a moving song.
Or a person gave you an unexpected kindness, not expecting anything in return.
You stopped worrying about your current problems and became fully present.
For me, this is a sign of God’s existence. I’m not here to argue about this. I just want to express my conviction, that when I feel such emotion, I am overcome with the joy of living.
I was lucky enough to believe that love is possible through my parents and family. I experiences many transcendant moments in my childhood.
OK I admit I can be prone to hypersensitivity, having an artistic temperament. It must be like when an artist experiences beautiful art he or she has either created or witnessed.
I feel it in nature more as I get older. I can be fully present in a beautiful morning landscape.

    Dear Jack:

In this post, you make God look almost good to me…

I didn’t even mind typing god with a capital G. See above.

god (small g) and God (big G). Instead of a trinity there are in fact two gods. Big G and Small g.
God the father and god the son?

Interesting, Jack. I came up with something by accident when contemplating the Bush trinity, the former president Bush, the more recent president Bush and the candidate for president, Bush: The Father, The Son and the Holly Gh.. Jeff Bush.

I thought it was funny, at the time. I love it when I think I am funny.

I am bushed out of the bushes. Enough. Definitely. I don’t think there is a next Obama though, a brother or a father, or even a son. You can quote me on this: I think Clinton will be next president. But I digress, thank you for saying I am funny!

I think you have a unique point of view, Anita, which makes you special. This is why there are repeat customers here ON TB. They come back to ask you for more insightful advice.

    Jack,

Wow. Marvelously explained, “You stopped worrying about your current problems and became fully present” and this “when I feel such emotion, I am overcome with the joy of living.” I can completely relate. What a wonderful post.

What I enjoy most about these moments is that they happen when I least expect them. It is such a wonderful thing to feel. For me, it might be going outside, and just feeling the energy all around me, not just from people, but from all of nature or just doing other things and having a sense that all is not what it seems but that rather there are greater things at work. The first time I felt it, I was in awe. It was like nothing I had ever experienced, ethereal I’d say. It makes me feel like nothing can weigh me down, at least not in that precise moment, no matter what is going on.

I agree that these moments are a sign of God’s existence, or at least I like to believe they are.

Ah, artistic. I tend to think artist are the most insightful people there are. The reason being that they take the time to look at things in a different way, or in such a way that broadens the horizon for others.

As for me, well I wouldn’t call myself artistic. However, I am into reading aura’s, feeling the energy of others, and meditating. So I’d say I’m a spiritual person.
