Don’t be too hard on yourself. Opening up your heart to someone is a very scary thing. Only move as quickly as you feel comfortable. Everyone in our lives is there for a reason and there is something we can learn from every relationship. Try to relax and embrace the fact that you have found someone special. Don’t worry about feeling uncomfortable with “corny” expressions of emotion–everyone is unique in the way that they show their love for others. With time and patience you will both come to have a better understanding of the ways in which you communicate your feelings. Take your time and try taking small steps toward opening up your heart if the thought of jumping right in with everything you have is scary–of course it is going to be a little scary, it is always a risk–but without risk you may never know how things could be.
