    Hi friends!

I just wanted to make a post to possibly help anyone who might be going through something that can be helped.

I recently just went through a horrible case of vertigo for over 4 weeks. I am 25 and very healthy, so this was a shock to me. The medical field has NO idea what vertigo is or how to diagnose it. I was told multiple times to go home and live with it. Easy for them to say when they can see clearly, and I am running into walls and having massive anxiety attacks from all the dizziness I had constantly. I would give myself anxiety attacks thinking I had a brain tumor or MS because doctors “didn’t know.”

I was so frustrated. I went online and there are so many people who suffer with vertigo who haven’t gotten any answers for years. There are multiple causes of vertigo, and the treatment is completely dependent on the cause. I was told consistently that mine was because of a crystal in my ear (BPPV) which is a real condition, but my symptoms were not consistent with that diagnoses, and frankly they never tested to see. And even then, if I HAD what they said I have, there is treatment for it that they never offered.

I ended up finding a NUCCA chiropractor in my town who had wonderful reviews. This is a chiropractor who focuses on the upper neck. There is no “cracking” as normal chiropractors do. The treatment is completely painless and you really don’t feel anything at all, but it has completely cure my vertigo and severe anxiety, and so I am a believer in the practice. I was told that having the atlas in your neck misaligned can cause chronic migraines, vertigo, back pain, tmj, anxiety, mood disturbances, etc. I also had TMJ for several years which now seems to be gone for the first time.

So I guess I just wanted to put it out there; if you suffer from chronic back pain, headaches, vertigo that isn’t BPPV, TMJ, or even anxiety, I highly recommend NUCCA chiropractors because they literally fixed me when medical doctors gave up on me.

Also, If anyone here suffers from vertigo, or knows someone who does, please feel free to reach out to me as I have experience with the different symptoms, and would love to help find the solution.

    Take care!

    Thanks for the recommendation!

I will pass this along to friends or colleagues who may be interested. I personally go to an Eastern traditional Chinese medicine practitioner, been going for the past 4 years and it helped me as well with with my sensitive neck and stomach. I do cupping as as well. The combination of acupuncture, cupping, Bikram yoga, a healthy diet, along with some liquid herbal drops have been helping me tremendously. http://www.acupuncturephx.com/index.php/about-us/

That is good to know! I have been wanting to get into yoga as well as some other natural practices that may help with anxiety.

Yoga is effective for me personally, I tell people to at least give it a chance (like anything in life) for at least 2-4 weeks and see if it makes a difference on your entire body, mind and soul. Bikram Yoga that is. Just have to give it at the very least 2 weeks, going 3-5 days a week. Our instructors always thanks us for making the effort on attending/making it to class because they understand the time and commitment it takes to prepare our bodies before hand. And also, taking 90 minutes out of our day to be there in class. So well worth it though at the end of class. Always proud of myself for getting through it, as I always have some kinks somewhere In my body I have to fight through, pain wise but it subsides after a few days.

Is there anything that you are currently doing to help with your anxiety?

    Hi Shelly,
I’m currently seeing a NUCCA chiropractor (for a head/neck trauma) after being over adjusted by another upper cervical chiropractor, but things aren’t going so well. The fall has affected my vision in a big way and is a great “pain in the neck”, so to speak, along with headaches, sinus congestion, and a feeling of being off balance and unsteady. I’ve run the gamut of doctors (eye doctors, general practitioner, naturopath, neurologist, physical therapist) and discovered all my problems came from my seemingly innocuous fall when interviewed by my naturopath. I was so excited when I finally found out what was causing all my issues, after 7 months of getting nothing from traditional doctors but somehow, things haven’t worked out.

I’m wondering how your NUCCA treatment went like and if you felt better and better after each adjustment? For me, the first three adjustments were just amazing. I regained a sense of balance and by the 3rd adjustment, I actually had a running nose like crazy which to me was a good sign since I had been diagnosed with sinus congestion earlier in the year with a CT scan, thinking I had some tumor. Then, after the 4th adjustment, things went downhill. I noticed and said to my NUCCA doctor that he had pressed a little harder than usual and he said something was resistant. That same night, I started getting eye pains and my vision went off again. I could not focus very well. Then the rest of the adjustment didn’t help. My sinus congestion came back and now I have head pressure and my ears have this sense of fullness and muffled feeling for over 3 weeks. I also started to feel my spine get twisted as well and my neck making tons of grating, clicking, grinding sounds that I did not have before the treatment. I did voice my concerns about everything. It wasn’t until the 11th adjustment that he agreed to retake xrays, after which he calculated a new angle. I’ve had two adjustments since but no great improvements like the 1st three adjustments and cannot seem to hold longer than 2-3 days either.

I’m reaching out to you to see how a “good NUCCA” experience is like and wondering if I need to jump ship to a new NUCCA chiro or, as my current NUCCA doc said, see a craniopath if this doesn’t work out. It’s been almost a good year since everything went downhill and I’m ready to get on with my life…my children and husband need a happier, healthier mother. Every single day I pray that my health will get better and do the best I can to seek out treatment that might help…but some days, I feel so disappointed and lose hope that I’ll ever feel “normal” and healthy again.
