    I feel like I have no friends. I had some friends. But they all seem to be gone now. Sometimes you just drift apart. Sometimes they do things you feel you cannot forgive. What do I do? I have no one to talk to. I am so alone.

    Hello Kava,

    I am so sorry to hear that.  The same thing happened to me.  I know it is a very hard thing to experience and I received little understanding from those remaining friends and family.  It is a feeling of being very isolated.  I thought I would never get over it but I am feeling much better now.

    It is very late where I am now so I’m too tired to write clearly.  If you wish we can “talk” some more about this.  I would like to at least give you some hope, because I believe you can get past this too.

    Dear Kava:

    Welcome back. On May of last year (it seems like such a long time ago, way before the pandemic), you were considering switching your elementary school child from public school to a Montessori school. Your child at the time preferred public school where you believed that she was well adjusted and had friends. I suppose your child is at home now, it being a lockdown?

    Thank you for your support, Juanita. I know I didn’t give many details in my original post. But it’s nice to know I’m not the only one who has gone or is going through this kind of thing.

    You are welcome, Kava.  I’m glad you feel comforted to know that you are not alone in how you feel – totally not alone!  A while ago I could have written the exact words myself, and I do not doubt that many more people out there feel like that, but when we have been hurt badly, we withdraw inside our shells, which deepens the sense of isolation, even though we know there are some friends out there, it is as if they have moved to another planet.  I wish you a visit by the “Trust Fairy” today!  May she magically lift your spirits and thus some little first step occurs to you.  It is a beautiful world out there, don’t miss out on it for too long!
