    Dear sona:

    I am sorry you have not been receiving competent therapy for such a long time. At this point, it seems to me, it is just another dysfunctional relationship where the man in your life has the position of being your therapist. He is not your therapist in practice, only in title.

    It reminds me of a story about a female cousin of mine who joined a dating service only to date the owner of the dating company. She paid him to introduce her to compatible men while dating him. Nothing good came out of it for her.

    Hi Anita,

    Thanks for your input.

    Since I have such a deep attachment with him it feels like a break-up..So much sadness and heart-ache..and of course, hollow feeling that i’m not loved or cared..

    I am thinking of writing him an email with what I want to say (that i couldn’t bring it up in the session) and stop the therapy. Or another part just says cancel the follow-up appt and don’t say anything..

    Dear sona:

    From my understanding of your posts over time, I have no faith in your (in title, not in practice) therapist. I am afraid it wouldn’t matter to him if you email him or just cancel your follow up apt. It is so sad, but it seems to me that your feelings are not important to him and that is why he didn’t ask you questions and did not follow up on your questions and comments.

    If it will help you to email him, please do. If you’d like you can send me the draft of the email for input. You also have the option to voice your dissatisfaction with his “work” to him and to an organization that supervises him.

    * Dear badseed: On your first reply on this thread, you wrote that this thread seems like an intimate talk (between me and sona), and although it has been, it is not meant to be an exclusive talk. This is a public forum and you, badseed, are very welcome to comment on any existing thread as well as starting your own. I very much like your first reply on this thread, honest, straightforward, clear and respectful, not one that promotes violence like your second reply.
