    Consider mindfulness meditation.

As for keeping on top of things, you will not do that by having your mind on constant overdrive and feeling stressed. You will just burn out. So factor in time to relax and look into meditation – by looking after yourself, you will have the energy and resource you need to have a clear mind and really get things done. That will give you the edge you’re looking for. Being burned out, stressed and constantly lost in thought is a recipe for exhaustion.

This is a simple technique for working with a racing, unfocused mind. Good luck!

    Hi Bluecharles,

Your mind is overwhelmed and in a state of fight-or-flight. You need to find ways to relax. I would recommend researching breathing techniques, meditation, yoga nidra, prayer, etc. This will calm your body’s stress response, which in turn will calm your thoughts. Eventually, you will need to redefine the thoughts that are leading to your anxiety, but calming the response first will make that less overwhelming.

Turns out, not getting any sleep was a good thing. It was like my conscience started working again, and I felt calm and content. I got to experience dawn again, and remembered that I won’t end up like the aforementioned characters, at all! I’m also self-assured that I’m on top of things, and actually have an edge as I don’t procrastinate.
