Dear Karen:
The title of your thread is: “keeps distance I’m all over him, shows interest I get sick, run for help” (I added the punctuation). And you asked: “Is it thrill of the chase?.. Do I have something to prove by ‘winning’ someone? Do I run because I feel something is wrong with me if someone likes me?”
My simple answer (and I don’t need more information to feel confident in my answer) is that you run because you are afraid. You chase him because you need love and you run away from him because you are afraid.
“Am I meant to be alone?”- no, humans are not meant to be alone. We are social animals, like coyotes, wolves and elk: we are meant to be together with others.
Fear is the most powerful emotion there is, because in nature, the first priority for every animal is to escape danger. Therefore, fear feels so intense that it forces the animal to run as fast as possible.
I noticed the photo above your screen name reads: “Choose people who choose you”- too often people choose other people for things other than love. People choose people to steal from, to hurt and harm, to take advantage of, to use and misuse. Got to be aware of what people are looking for when they choose you, and what you are looking for when you choose them.
