    Elham,

I’m uncertain about the differences in culture between us. Do you have to have his permission to leave him? Is convincing him the only option? Are there legal reasons why you are stuck?

    With warmth,
    Matt

    Thanks for the reply Matt.

In my country husbands should divorce their wives.I am from Iran!
You know, there is no mutual connection.I feel nothing. The saddest moment is when I hear he is coming home and I have nothing to talk about,to share.when I am alone,I enjoy life but with him,not at all.
I really don’t know what to do.I have talked to him a lot that there is no feeling but he just seems not to understand, not to listen at all as he considers divorce a taboo.
I can’t understand why he can’t accept it.
I know that he has his own perspective but life is too short………..
    I am really helpless……..

I don’t feel I can adequately give you the advice you deserve, but I hope you find your path to true happiness. Know that you are not alone; though no one probably speaks about it there are likely other women in your community who have similar issues and questions.

Here is an article I read a while back that shows that there are women seeking divorce in Iran, it can be done! http://www.nytimes.com/2010/12/07/world/middleeast/07divorce.html?pagewanted=all
