Let’s look at your motivation to steal from work, beyond it being able to “see how far (you) could get”:

First, was it the first time you stole (from anyone or any place), or the first time you were caught… or the first time you were fired for stealing?

Second, what was your home life like when the stealing began, your relationships with family members? And otherwise, what were your life circumstances when you started stealing?
