I am 18 and am not skilled at anything I have bad grades and was in special education I really like art and guitar but I suck at both I can’t transition between chords in guitar in enough speed and as for art I have been doing it of and on for about 3 or 4 years and I still can’t draw a anime or human body from memory I just want to be to believe in myself and feel confident and learn these skills and have good grades.
January 10, 2016 at 6:56 pm #92023AnonymousGuestDear world rain drop:
Please try to enjoy the art and guitar without grading yourself, good or bad. Just create art and create music and enjoy it. I know someone who cared so much about how he performs, giving himself bad grades at what he did… even when he did well at something, his satisfaction was very temporary and he was back to thinking he is not good enough. I called him a Human Doing instead of a Human Being. He is learning now to simply BE without having to be good at what he does.
Just enjoy what you create and relax. If you relax you will perform better, but don’t focus on your performance.

hi how you doing?
I managed to stay away from here for about a week which is good willpower I think. Forum addiction is something I need to address for sure and try to get on with my real life in 2016, which at the moment is stalling and got me worried sick as usual about my ability to ever earn an income ever again.
But I’ll be dropping by now and then.
And cheers to you for your time and patience on here helping others as usual. Take care! 🙂January 10, 2016 at 7:23 pm #92027AnonymousGuest* Hey Juanita- I left you a note yesterday in one post and was wondering about you. I figured: Juanita is doing what Juanita needs to do and if staying away from tiny buddha is for the well being of my precious Juanita, then it is good enough for me. And what is it again about this forum not being real life? I already addressed this issue and declared this to be .. real life (My authoritative tone here is meant as humor). Anyway, glad you will be dropping by now and then. Sorry 2016 is stalling for you. Please update me with your job search! And thank you for your cheers!!!

I know you were joking but the fact you are really helping people here with real problems is really admirable. I need to address my lack of income. Have ruled out robbing a bank and partner does not see humour in it either.
Llama Juanita aka JackJanuary 10, 2016 at 7:34 pm #92043AnonymousGuest* Dear Llama Juanita aka Jack: I didn’t know if to refer to you as “he” or “she”- I didn’t know if you want your past identity as Jack to be forgotten. I suppose not so I can refer to you as “he” and I can refer to you as Juanita aka Jack???
Funny, funny good old Llama Juanita aka Jack!
Dear world rain drop:
Please post here again and … let me introduce you to Juanita aka Jack, the funniest person on this forum, says I. Hoping you reply to my post to you and we can “talk”.

Hi Would Rain Drop,
I know that this post is old, but I feel compelled to respond anyway. I have been a special education teacher (as my “day job,” LOL) for 13 years, and I also have a daughter with autism. I have seen MANY former students go on to live happy lives, finding their niche and their talents.
My first question is, what do you know about your disability? Do you have a learning disability, cognitive/intellectual impairment, autism, emotional impairment/disturbance, etc? Those are all scary labels, but none of them are a big deal. But knowing what your challenges are can help you to find your place and your strengths.
My advice is for you to get to know YOUR mind. Know what you ARE good at, and know what you need in order to meet your goals. It sounds like you like music. Is it really a problem if it takes you longer to learn to play, if it is something you love? Would you do better with color-coded sheet music, or if someone could teach you to play by ear?
Having a disability does not have to be a road block. Things may look different for you, but if you do not judge them as being “bad,” then there is no problem.
Keep us posted!
