    Dear Davy:

Regarding your bottom line question, my answer: of the two possibilities, do accept thinking about work. But to that I add: introduce to your after work time thinking about something new, something meaningful to you that is not work related.

You think about work because it is meaningful to you, you wrote that you love what you do. You need something else that you will love to do, something that intrigues you, that draws you.

(There may be- or not-  something at home that repels you, maybe a feeling of loneliness or if in a relationship, maybe conflicts which lead you to the distraction of thoughts of work?)

I just wanted to say unfortunately once the school year starts I become work obsessed both in and out of work. I too find it hard to switch off. I love the kids I teach but I work in a school where they have lots of issues. It’s hard to let go, even though I say it a lot at work. I’m the natural pacifier but …. I too need to let go. Have you had any luck with this?
