Hi all,
I really need some help!
For a few years now (nearly 10 thinking about it!) my husband and I have been trying to live our lives by the Laws of the Universe. We have always been good and kind people, and adopting these new ideas seemed to fit in perfectly with our core values so we were really happy. At the time, we had been trying to start our own business, however we were also in full time work. Since then we have lost our jobs, our business has failed, we lost our home, are now in debt and are looking to take on full time work again.
The problem I have is this. We have been ‘following our passions’ for years, acting on every opportunity that came our way, keeping our eyes and ears open and so far, every decision we have made, and every opportunity we have taken has taken us further and further away from the life we want! And now, the only reason we haven’t been declared bankrupt is because we can’t afford the fees to do it! We have got creditors knocking on our door left right and centre (and we are in the process of setting up an IVA) and if we don’t manage to pay up £500 this week, one of our creditors is going to demand the entire loan back! (usually I am against borrowing money, but I had no choice on that occasion). We are getting interviews for jobs, but until we have actually GOT the jobs then we don’t have the money!
We’ve even got our guitars up for sale (and I have my gorgeous vintage pram up for sale too) and they have been up for sale for months, but no one will buy them! I’m beginning to feel very cheated by all the advice we have been given and I am beginning to loose faith! If anyone has any advice or ideas, I would very much appreciate them! Unfortunately, the suggestion I had was to get a life coach or buy a specific course, but I haven’t even got the money to feed my family at the moment and I’m just wondering how many more times we can say ‘oh, I know that it appears bad, but I’m sure there is good in this situation’ as the amount of ‘silver linings’ I am having to find is becoming more and more by the day!
Sorry this is so negative (which is unusual for me, but I’m feeling very beaten at the moment)
Peace and Love
~Vicky

You wrote: “my husband and I have been trying to live our lives by the Laws of the Universe.” and “We have been ‘following our passions’ for years, acting on every opportunity that came our way, keeping our eyes and ears open.” Can you list the laws of the universe you are referring to? Is “acting on every opportunity that came (your) way” one of these rules of the universe? And what do you mean by acting on every opportunity? For example I have the opportunity right now (it is an extreme example, of course) to jump off my deck (hoping I can fly but am likely to fall)- do I take the opportunity?
If you answer these questions, if you find them worthwhile I can give more thought to your post and hope it is helpful to you…

In financial situations, an example could be– in your example: “I would have to sell my beloved pram.” Maybe releasing your attachment to “things” will help bring abundance to you? Maybe abundance means abundance of love or creative/spiritual fulfillment? Hang in there… I have often heard that the darkest times are just before the light. I hope your light is just around the next corner!

Anita, you’re right, I should’ve been more specific. I’m just in the middle of something at the moment, but give me a little while and I will put together a better explanation 🙂
Thank you both for your thoughts 🙂

Most people in your shoes would have fallen apart and turned to alcohol/drugs – you are a strong person and a good soul !
Sometimes in life, when it rains….it pours !!
You need to start from a place of security first…being very conservative with your finances and future decisions.
