    Dear Javaira:

Welcome back, I am glad to read from you again, and hope to read from you again and again, whenever you feel like posting.

“I’ve been just feeling low from the inside. things don’t seem bad. I just feel hurt for no reason”- it is the hurt from the past, when there was a reason to feel hurt.

When we feel intensely bad as children, those intensely bad feelings don’t disappear, they are still there under the surface, and  they rise to the surface once in a while, sometimes spontaneously, in a dream, at other times just because we feel tired or unwell, or when something reminds us of a time when we hurt (for a reason).

We remember hurt sometimes without remembering the events regarding the hurt, that is, we re-experience feelings.

How about listening to your favorite music,  maybe sad music that will help you to cry,  or taking a walk outside in the cool fresh air, feeling energized again.. or both things, at different times?

    hi anita,

    thank you once again.

i got you. it’s that hurt perhaps. As you said “we remember the hurt sometimes without remembering the events.” that really felt correct to me.

i actually tried taking a walk(i love walks) and have been listening to music too(both sad and happy), cried a lot too. Any more suggestions?

    Dear Javaira:

You are welcome. More suggestions: mindful guided meditations (the Mark Williams series available online free, I believe), an online or in-person yoga class, a variety of classes available perhaps in a gym, watching a pg-13 movie or comedy show, taking a nap, a hot bath, a cool shower, hot tea, work in the yard, if you have a yard, and look under Blogs in the Home Page, I bet you will find ideas there.
