Dear Amy:

You wrote that you are trying hard to give your child what he or she needs, including a safe, responsible and loving father.

Too late for that, according to you, isn’t this why you are fighting, because you stated repeatedly that the father is not safe and responsible and this is why you are in this war that you are in.

What your child needs is a calm mother available to him, attentive, comforting. Many of my suggestions to you were aimed at you finding some calm, some peace of mind so that you can be a good enough mother to your child. Your child NEEDS you calm. Seeing you as anxious as you are day in and day out is harmful to your child!

Please get that calm… please.
