When people are talking about art and creativity, it is usually about creating some form of art themselves, as in painting, writing, making music and many others. Or about enjoying one of the art forms, listening to it, looking at it, reading it, wearing it,…
I wonder, is that the only way to define art?
What about being creative with life, with the many obstacles life can throw us, what about being creative with our depression and hopelessnes and feeling of being stuck?
Do you consider it a way of being creative, to finding ways to respond to them, to be able to try something wholeheartedly, then finding that it wasn’t the best way, being completely thrown against the rocks (or hitting rockbottom, hmm i’m not very good with this terminology :P), and then looking again, for an other way.
for example, doing something completely radically opposite to what you have always done in life, being completely with the fear or unknowing, and just trying it.Or maybe it is not only about challenges, but also with the boredom that might arise from doing the same things on and on, what kind of things you would do to make your life more ‘lively’.
For example, seeing patterns in yourself, and doing things to change them, or to take on the opposite from that pattern, so that you can learn to play around with it, and learn to be more free from it, or so that you can find your balance with it..Or by finding different way to look at events in your life, to bring more purpose in your life.
Or… whatever else i’m not thinking about right now.
In what ways are you being creative with your life?

I will try later, in a few days when i have time, to write some of my own ways, because it seems harder than i thought to put it down in written words.)

Always good to read from you here! I think every time you put a sentence together, it is creative. Your original post here, on this thread is creative.
When we do anything creative it is a time away from fear. When we relax we can create.
I like the topic and am looking forward to read more from you.

August 5, 2016 at 10:30 pm #111652Miniature BodhisattvaParticipantBeing creative isn’t just limited to visual, literary, or performing mediums – it is the act of creation through imagination – putting something on this earth that wasn’t there before. Creativity, like so many other things in this world, can be expressed positively, negatively, or in a neutral manner, so sure – it can be applied to less than noble pursuits, but no matter it’s aim, it is trans-formative.
I’ve seen it at work in how an individual will plan an event, or problem solve. My friends who are really talented cooks will always try something new when making a recipe. A co-worker will come up with new reasons to skip out early on a Friday. 🙂 Again, all creativity in action.
And yes, this applies to self improvement. You rearrange your thoughts, edit them, find those new insights, until this fresh mental landscape is painted onto the canvas of your brain. In many ways we are our own opus, our own masterpiece.
Keep on creating Sann. You’re asking some really good questions!

Thank you for your kind and encouraging replies.
Now i feel my question was silly because so evident, but well, it’s about something i’m learning at the moment and i’m glad i’m learning this. Thank you both for clarifying it a bit more 🙂August 11, 2016 at 7:33 pm #112205AnonymousGuestDear Sann:
