Hi VJ,
I just got done doing some research on the Kayam tablets, and not able to come up with much. They sound promising. At this point, I will try anything. I do notice they have Senna in them, which is a rather harsh stimulant laxative I take, not because I want to, but because I have to. Are these tablets probiotics? Laxatives? Amazon didn’t say much about them and no reviews. I do take medications, so have to be careful about using herbs due to possible interactions.
Thanks again for all the helpful information and kindness you have given me. I will keep trying to research Kayam.
December 25, 2017 at 9:54 pm #183625pandoraParticipantHi Eliana, I have to be blunt about a few things. First off, I really think you have anorexia. (Iâve had bouts over the years myself.) Anorexia is the #1 most dangerous mental illness / many people die from it. So maybe you need to talk to someone who specializes in helping with anorexia recovery.
Next, stop feeling so bad about being alone. It can actually be a blessing imho. I was alone all day and didnât talk to anyone but my pet rabbit. I have no living relatives, and therefore no one to be abusive toward me. They were cruel mental illness-ravaged people and destructive/lived short lives.
Lastly, you sound smart. Use your brain and donât have so much reliance on doctors. You are going to have to learn more about colon anatomy. Doctors will not teach you this. Find a current copy of Greyâs Anatomy and study it. My guess is you could have a problem similar to my own, having had to take medicine that was apparently neuro-toxic to my colon’s viscera. The only thing that works for me are tap water full flush enemasâ at least a good flush bi-weekly. You have to persistently massage your colon before and during the treatment along the path that the descending colon takes past the ileac fossa jag and into the sigmoid colon. This is why you need to be able to visualize the anatomy: you need to massage the path as accurately as possible to get the dried bolus material moving!! btw, You may need to use some glycerin suppositories if you have a good deal of semi-impacted stuff in your rectum. Just donât be grossed out. Itâs your own body so try not to let what comes out of it be a source of disgust. If you want more specific directions regarding flushing I can add those later. It will probably will require a year or more of this process to regain the nerve paths in your colon so that you have normal bowel movement again. But if you go the doctor-surgeon- hospital route, those nerves will never regenerate and you will wind up needing surgery and colostomy bags etc.
When you have nerve damage due to neuro-toxic medications like opioids, you need to keep your colon as clean and unblocked as possible so that the colon wall is not stretched or inflamed. Only then can it begin to heal and repair the nerve myelin, etc.
Sorry to be so scientific and not sympathetic sounding. But I am VERY sympathetic which is why I am sharing what I have learned in order to heal my own colon. It has changed my life. I am now pain free and enjoy food again. My colon needed a year of the enema work to heal btw. Take care!!
December 26, 2017 at 3:48 am #183635VJParticipantHello Eliana,
I hope you are in the US and looking on Amazon.com.
Certain online shopping websites automatically convert the links to their respective country – eg; Amazon.co.uk
This happens without us noticing it.
Also make sure you are looking for Kayam tablets by Sheth Bros and not by any other company.
http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss_2?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=kayam+tablets
The above link I provided you does contain several packets of the same product by different sellers. The are all the same –
1. The first search result on Amazon.com is “SET OF 4 Ayurvedic KAYAM Tablet for Chronic Constipation”.
This one has 4.1 out of 5 stars. The only 1 star review is by someone who received an expired product from a particular seller but nothing about the efficiency of the product. Rest all the other reviews are 4 and 5 stars.
2. The second search result is “Pack of 8 – Ayurvedic Kayam Tablet”
This has 2 reviews 5 out of 5 stars.
3. The next one is “Kayam 30 Tablets Per Tub From Sheth Brohters”
This has 1 review 5 out of 5 stars.
4. The next is “4 x Ayurvedic Kayam Tablet – 30 Tablets”
This has 1 review 5 out of 5 stars.
I have provided you the above information just to make sure you are on the right product and on the right page. Also I could find reviews for “Kayam tablets” on other portions of the web.
Senna leaves is especially used for IBS and constipation. Moreover, the leaves and the fruit of the plant are used to make any such medicines for constipation. So if something is coming from nature (the divine garden) not sure if it is something that can cause a problem unless it is manipulated negatively.
Also to let you know, I personally take these tabs on a daily basis. This is my fourth bottle. On the first day used two tablets after dinner and then took 1 tab per night thereafter. This needs to be adjusted as per our issue/needs. Initially there may be a need to visit the restroom couple of times in a day for full cleansing to happen.
Perhaps what you could do is try out for some time and keep a watch on the subtle differences on both sides – positive or negative.
I found the effect on the very first day and hence continuing with the same.
In any case be it laxatives or probiotics, I’m sure you are already aware that it becomes a dependency on these things and is obviously not a long term or permanent solution.
So doing things like yoga/pranayama (kapalbhati) or even brisk walking, drinking much of water throughout the day, consuming seasonal fresh fruits and salads, more of fibrous foods, fixed meal times, less of heavy to digest and oily foods and avoiding worrisome temperament are going to be highly beneficial and fruitful.
Please don’t hesitate to write back if you are not able to find those 3 pranayama videos or links on kayam tablets or anything else. I will reply back with whatever information I can.
Warm, Regards,
VJ

December 26, 2017 at 6:23 am #183665ElianaParticipantThank you so much VJ. I’m just so tired of Laxatives, being stuck in the bathroom all day, cramping, stomach pain, not wanting to eat. I live in Housing. In order to maintain our housing here, there are alot of rules. We have to go to Mandatory groups. Not many, and they don’t last long, but we are not allowed bathroom breaks. I also don’t have transportation, have to walk alot and can’t afford to be in the bathroom cramping with loose stools. I take the Senna on the weekends. It’s very frustrating, because I am in the bathroom all day cramping. It really cleans you out. Thank you for being there. I wish I could find something like a probiotic that worked.
December 26, 2017 at 6:43 am #183669pandoraParticipantHello again Eliana,
As you are having a colonoscopy and are going into it with extreme constipation, you may face what they term a âdifficult colonoscopyâ. You might want to read this from a scientific journal:Â https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3992064/
Note that the writer stresses manual massage/manipulation of the colon for difficult cases, which he says he feels his profession lacks awareness of. Bottom line is that to get things moving through the colon, massage is a professional endorsed method/ Iâm not making this up.
I am sure that herbal tablets may have excellent benefits for many. But in cases of neuro-toxicity, the fewer chemical or even herbal interventions relied upon for bowel movements/colon contractions, the faster you can expect real healing of your colon . You need to calm things down at the cellular level because even minor inflammatory responses prevent your organs from going into healing mode. There is a lot of research on that too. (So herbs and foods that are anti-inflammatory are def your friends in healing.) Massage and enemas are not irritating to the colon wall at the cellular level, which is why I think it is a good option for you. It certainly has been a hard-earned miracle for me anyway.
December 26, 2017 at 7:19 am #183675ElianaParticipantOkay, VJ, âșI ordered the tablets. I have tried everything else. Holistic, Chiropractic, naturopaths, Colon Cleansers..nothing works. I finally broke down. This gastroenterologist, seems very patient and kind, and is trying everything before going down the surgery route. But I need to find out what is wrong with my Colon..slow transit, Colon cancer, etc..just for peace of mind. I have no money left for anything else anymore. My options have run out. I figure if I die, I am not afraid, because I will be in a better place. Just got back from a Doctor’s appointment, who said my weight was healthy, I had nothing to worry about. Imagine that. Said my blood work looked “terrific”. So..I won’t listen to the “naysayers” and negative people, I feel they want to say unkind things because they feel bad about themselves. I will focus on the pisitive, my recovery, the videos you sent me and your kind advice. Thanks again for being so positive and compassionate about something so sensitive. Have a wonderful week and New Year.
December 26, 2017 at 7:29 am #183677VJParticipantOk Eliana, something that you already know which is to make sure that you don’t take many things at the same time for the same health issue. Meaning while taking the tabs hold on for a while on other things else would not be good for the digestive system.
Thanks and have a happy new year!

December 26, 2017 at 8:03 am #183681pandoraParticipantHello Eliana, My posts regarding use of enema for constipation have been reported for inapropriate content! This is rather outrageous. That the concept of enema is offensive is why this important healing technique is not promoted in America. Yet it should be not only promoted but hailed for its healing benefits. You CAN actually go to colon lavage centers where they will perform enemas/colon lavage for you, but it is cost prohibitive for many, so better to learn how to self administer them, a technique which can be found in books, etc.
To whomever is policing these forums, please understand that thinking of the enema procedure as obscene is a form of puritannical ignorance.
December 26, 2017 at 8:03 am #183683pandoraParticipantI think it is much more inappropriate for people to be touting tablets on Amazon, when it is highly possible that they are material benefactors from such sales. To me, that is âinapprorpriate contentâ, not talking about the use of enemas for colon cleansing! Our capitalistic society is brainwashed into thinking that buying expensive things is always the best solution. Very troubling. IMHO, Letting your body be itâs own healer whenever possible is the path of great enlightenment!
December 28, 2017 at 7:45 am #184103quackingphilosopherParticipantDear Eliana,
I hope you are feeling better. You have a beautiful name! Please do not say sorry for having emotions. Everybody hurts, and it’s completely human to feel like you do. Nobody can be happy all the time, and that’s perfectly alright!
I just wanted to let you know that we are all here for you, including myself. You can share your feelings with us, and we will be here to listen and give whatever advice we can. I know you are feeling bad that you are alone, and you have had a rough past. But note that the rough past has shaped you to who you are today, someone special and completely unique with your own set of skills. Nobody could compare to you, and it goes without saying that you should not compare yourself with others too.
Even when other people reject you, I would like to encourage you to accept yourself. Love yourself. Honor yourself. Tell yourself that you’re worth it, despite how others treat you. Because how other people treat you is their problem, and not yours. Believe me on that, Eliana! đ
Eliana, please do not pray for God to take your life every night before bed anymore. I understand that you must be feeling so empty, and hollow, inside. I have felt like you before, so I empathize. My words might not mean a lot to you, but that’s alright, because it is ultimately we ourselves who dictate what we do in life. Whether you choose to internalize what I’m saying is up to you – but as corny as it sounds, there will always be light at the end of the tunnel. There will be many tunnels we’ll be walking through in life, and this is just one of yours on this Christmas eve. You can get through it. Just like all the other occasions, you will brave through it and emerge stronger again. Have faith in yourself.
I realize that you are hurting a lot, both externally and internally. From your description, it does sound really painful. Persevere! Do not give up just yet! We are all here for you, genuinely.
Yours sincerely,
Jun Na
December 28, 2017 at 9:01 am #184133AnonymousGuest* Dear pandora: I want to welcome you to the Forums. I read your replies two days ago and found your massaging the colon idea very interesting, something I might look more into. Regarding the enemas- I listed it myself as a possibility in a reply on this thread, first page. I regret the distress that this reporting-for-inappropriate-content caused you and hope that you will post again elsewhere, if not here. I would like to read more from you.

December 28, 2017 at 10:01 am #184157ElianaParticipantHi Jun Na,
Thank you for your kind comment about my name. Your post is one of the most beautiful heartfelt posts anyone has ever sent me, and it made me cry. Thank you for your compassion. I normally come on here to help others. I decided to be brave, start my own thread on Christmas Day, and post because I just felt so sad and hopeless. I just wanted understanding and sympathy, and I thank you for that. It upset me very much that another poster who does not know me, has never seen me, does not know my heart, would call me something so cruel as “anorexic” on Christmas Day.
Thank you for your compassion and beautiful heart, and I promise not to ask my life to be taken.
January 1, 2018 at 5:24 am #184551VJParticipantHi Eliana,
How have you been doing?
How have you been doing especially with your stomach situation?
Hope you had a good new year’s eve.
It is good to see you achieve what you always wanted to do – come here and help others.
That’s the best way to not feel sad and hopeless.
Warm regards,
VJ
January 1, 2018 at 7:13 am #184563ElianaParticipantHi VJ,
Thank you for checking in. It means alot to me. Unfortunately, I wish I had better news. I am having such bad anxiety right now, I’m shaking so bad typing this. I had a very bad night last night. Enema last night did not help. Have been bound up for 4 days. Took Senna-Lax last night, but not much. There is a wind chill advisory here. 15 below. Trying to not call a cab for another emergency room visit, but I have drank 5 cups of coffee, to try to get something, but nothing. Going to try a little more. Have been up since 5am. I am unable to go on my own any more. Something is very wrong with my Colon/digestive system. I wish I could go back to the days before I started opiods. If any had told me opiods for severe back pain would do this after stopping them, I would have done the steroid injections instead. Unfortunately pain management Doctor’s don’t tell you anything. I don’t know how much longer I can live like this. I am losing weight still, no matter how much I try to eat. I need to start the Linzess, but want to start it on a day when I dont have to run errands or have groups. I have heard it can cause severe stomach cramping. I’m really nervous about taking it. I am stopping fiber, because it is only making things worse I think. I don’t know how much longer I can live like this. I couldn’t enjoy New Years Eve, or New Year’s Day today, alhough it is so cold out, not many people I know went out. My birthday is the 14th, and it will be another day spent home alone. I hope you have a Happy and Prosperous New Year, and thanks again for thinking of me.
January 1, 2018 at 12:35 pm #184589ElianaParticipantHi VJ,
Just wanted to give an update. Feeling a bit better. Although, I am having some chest pain. But I know it won’t last long. Another 3-4 days, I will be right back to having to take a laxative and miserable and hopeless again. I have to stop procrastinating, being a coward and just take the Linzess. My case manager is on me all the time. She does not understand why I don’t just take it, and if I start having any kind of stomach pain or cramping, to call the Gastroenterologist, and have the dosage lowered or try something else. I don’t know what I am so afraid of. Wish I could just have a few “off days” where I did not have groups, errands, doctors appointsments, etc just to take it. I have set a date on my calendar, and made a promise to myself to take it that day. Have a wonderful New Year.
