i love reading yours too they always give me peace of mind! outside of this i have no one else to talk to so i really appreciate it. i know i thank you all the time, but you’re the only person other than god (even though he’s not really a person) i can talk to about spirituality and things i’m concerned with. i don’t see all that i’m capable just yet, but i like to believe that i’m capable of something.
February 8, 2016 at 6:57 pm #95367AnonymousGuestDear Wisdom:
You are welcome and it is okay with me if you don’t thank me anymore, not for a long, long time.
You wrote that you don’t see yet what you are capable of. Well you are capable of writing, typing here, posting, your words, your thoughts, feelings. You are capable of making yourself visible through your writing, so please do… make yourself visible here, no limits, nothing too silly or weird, be YOU, here…
You already started. Your posts changed from the beginning of this thread and now there is so much more life in them, more and more of you…
Be it spirituality, religion, the internet guy, guys… Los Angeles, anything and everything…

February 9, 2016 at 5:21 am #95414WisdomParticipantanita, do you think it’s important to share our creativity? like, is it a necessary thing to do? i usually refrain from it because i always feel like something would be taken away from me and then given more credit if someone else tried to translate what i was trying to convey.
do you think anyone is capable of taking our brainchildren away from us?
February 9, 2016 at 5:22 am #95415WisdomParticipantor maybe if you hold on to something for too long, would god take that as we’re not using it and then gift it to someone else?
February 9, 2016 at 5:25 am #95416WisdomParticipantand what would you say is the signifigance of dreams? would you say they are foretelling or a hodgepodge of what’s left over in our minds?
February 9, 2016 at 6:57 am #95420WisdomParticipantand are other people rewarded better than others? sure there’s people that are less fortunate, but i believe there are gifts even in that.
i know i asked you a million questions this morning, but i’d thought i’d share them with you.
February 9, 2016 at 9:05 am #95433AnonymousGuestDear Wisdom:
Thank you for posting these last posts and asking me the questions you asked. I will go point by point:
1) “do you think it’s important to share our creativity? like, is it a necessary thing to do? i usually refrain from it because i always feel like something would be taken away from me and then given more credit if someone else tried to translate what i was trying to convey.do you think anyone is capable of taking our brainchildren away from us?”
I think I used to think this way… I no longer do. I am thinking about this right now… I used to think that things I was thinking, things that occurred to me were special in the sense that no one else was thinking it. I did think that I was the only one with this or that idea. But then I found out that I was not. I found out that if I think it, someone else already thought it. And later I found out that there are different levels of knowing something and when you know it deeply and then share it, the person reading it doesn’t get it on the same level. They may say: “I know this already”- but not know it deeply. Or they may say: “I never thought this”- and although it is something new to them, they soon forget about it.
So, no, I really do not think your creativity can be taken away from you, nothing that you think can be taken away from you. Any “brainchild” you have, once you express it, you will give birth, figuratively, to more brainchildren. So in sharing a brainchild, not only will it not be taken away from you, but you will have more.. and more brain children as a result of sharing the one!
2) “or maybe if you hold on to something for too long, would god take that as we’re not using it and then gift it to someone else?” No, I don’t think god will take your brainchild away and give it to someone else, not at all! But if you don’t share your brain child, that one brain child will not multiply and become more and more brain children. Sharing one will give birth to more, as I often share myself: the more we see, the more we learn, the more there is to see and to learn.
3) “and what would you say is the signifigance of dreams? would you say they are foretelling or a hodgepodge of what’s left over in our minds?” No, I do not believe dreams foretell the future, not at all. Of the two options you brought up, I say: hodgepodge, definitely hodgepodge.
4) “and are other people rewarded better than others? sure there’s people that are less fortunate, but i believe there are gifts even in that.” Rewarded by god? No, I don’t believe people are rewarded or punished by god. As you know, some honest, kind people suffer and bad things happen to them and other dishonest, cruel people can have fun and good things happen to them. This fact eliminates the reward/ punishment by god argument for me. On the other hand, when you choose to do what is effective, reasonable, wise… you will most likely experience positive consequences for having done it. When you choose to do something ineffective, unreasonable, unwise, you will most likely experience negative consequences.
Please do post again with your thoughts about these four points. Lots of material here, so take your time…

February 9, 2016 at 1:57 pm #95600WisdomParticipanti’m back!
a lot of what you wrote i’ll have to reread again just because it’s a lot to take in haha! i was on a roll this morning.
about brainchildren: good thing no one can necessarily take anything away from you. like how picasso can’t be basquiat and vice versa. although they’re from different time periods, they both had different art styles that were totally unique from each other. a better comparison would’ve been basquiat & keith haring or maybe even warhol. jean-michel and andy worked together, but it’s not really like they could’ve stole from each other. or they couldn’t really do the same things in the same way. so the levels thing makes total sense to me. maybe on the outside looking in it’s different, but i usually keep to myself so my view of things get a little skewed. but even in a roundabout way i feel like people will always try to take something. sharing is pretty hard when you feel like that though. especially when you feel like you have to hold on to certain things and certain feelings in order to get the next best thing.
with dreams, i’m still not so sure how i feel about them. i think that maybe for me, at the moment, they could be a mixture of both, but it would be nice if there were messages sent from god and angels guiding you. a hodgepodge they are though, all the time and i can never figure what they’re supposed to mean to me.
and rewards: why exactly does god let that happen? to have good things for bad people and bad things for bad people? what exactly are we supposed to learn from that? is it for good people to learn to be or stay happy without material or manifested things? and for bad people to come to finally realize that all through the bad they could probably be too greedy or selfish or something with all the good things they may have or have happen? and although you don’t believe in heaven or hell, maybe that’s when god would give good people good things. i don’t like to have the idea of anyone going to hell at all. i don’t really know if i believe in hell, but evil, i think evil is probably real. or just a real illusion. i like to believe that everyone is good, even if they don’t show it.

I like your art comparisons. It makes me develop my thinking further on our discussion today: you, Wisdom, are definitely unique: there is only one of you. No one can express himself or herself exactly like you. No one has exactly your experience and your brain. So no one can steal your uniqueness, it is just impossible.
An invention of a machine can be stolen, a recipe for a special dish can be stolen though… lots can be stolen, material things you own. And maybe it seems that even love can be stolen, in a family when one sibling gets the attention and the other does not. Theft and inequality are definitely a reality.
So all these things are true: things are stolen, in real life; love and positive attention are most often not distributed equally.. and nobody can steal your unique experience of life, your expressions of thought and emotion.
Regarding dreams, you wrote that it would be nice if god and angels would be guiding you through dreams. I agree, it would be nice if a positive, loving and wise entity or entities would be guiding me! Of course, would-be-nice doesn’t necessarily make it be so. There is a difference between wishful thinking, a preference and reality.
Regarding good things happening to bad people and bad things happening to good people: I think these happen randomly, I mean natural disasters, crimes, wars.. these are not personal to a particular individual. People get caught up in such happenings, having done nothing to cause those things. I don’t think bad things happen to good people to teach them something. People can learn from situations but the situations don’t happen for the purpose of teaching the person something.
Often, because people who believe in god and the bible believe god is just, and knowing there is not much justice in the world, they figure there must be justice after death. This, in my opinion, is convenient thinking. I don’t believe in heaven and hell. I don’t believe we exist as the unique individual we are after we die. We may exist as a form of energy though.
As to people being inherently good: I think people are born good but many don’t stay that way.
Till next post!

February 9, 2016 at 2:52 pm #95605WisdomParticipantit’s weird though, cause we all come from the same place. the same figure (god). and then when people say we are all a part of god, i always feel that maybe it is possible, but then again i usually forget how big the world is. the whole universe in general
so not every single thing happens for a reason?
February 9, 2016 at 2:54 pm #95606WisdomParticipanti can’t think of too many other questions or statements i’m stumped haha! there’s just so much to think about. just to figure what it is that’s going on in the world and we probably don’t even know the half of it.
February 9, 2016 at 3:04 pm #95607AnonymousGuestDear Wisdom:
As to your last post: the more I learn about the world the more there is to learn. It is like this: picture a balloon in space. What I know is like the air inside the balloon. What I don’t know is like the air outside the balloon. The more I know, the more air is in the balloon and the bigger the balloon. The bigger the balloon the bigger its surface area and the more of the air outside it borders. So the more I know, the more there is to know. I will never know but a small percentage of what is but that is good enough for me. I am engaged in the process of learning.
As to your earlier post: “So not every single thing happens for a reason?” My goodness, I think that not a single thing happens for a reason, that is as part of god’s plan to teach us something. Things happen, good, bad and indifferent and we either learn or not. Often people do not learn. It is wise to learn. But see the difference I am suggesting:
I am suggesting it is a good idea to learn from what happens to us
And
I am suggesting that what happens to us does not happen as part of a plan, a destiny… to teach us something.
Till your next post…

February 9, 2016 at 3:33 pm #95608WisdomParticipantthe balloon analogy was great it made sense and it’s always best to learn from what happens to us.
do you meditate at all? how does that work for you? actually shutting out the voices in your head to even get into a “state” is the hardest part i think
