I am not sure if this will help. I just went through a divorce a couple of months ago. He was my best friend.
The thing that gets me by is how in control I am of how rich my own company can be. It is my goal to stand on my own two feet again. Stand straight and tall and love me for me. Learning about yourself can feel amazing and focusing on who you are may help your struggle.

I was 13 when I FINALLY got a dog for my birthday. His name was Hydro and I begged for a dog ever since I was a toddler, so he was more than special for me. Dogs are probably my favorite beings in the whole world. Hydro and I went everywhere together. When Hydro was 10, it was his time to pass. Honestly, I tried to prepare myself for the loss. But, I had no idea how I would react. He was everything to me. I became somewhat bitter. I didn’t understand why he couldn’t live longer. Two years has passed. And the biggest and most important lesson I have learned is acceptance. I don’t understand why dogs are only given to us for a short time. The other thing that helped me was hearing this:

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together….

hope this helps, good luck with your struggle. I hope you find the strength to grieve and heal.

I actually know exactly how you are feeling. I too, have felt this way recently. I’m not sure I wouldnt have injured myself honestly. It hurts and is a very dangerous but a real emotion. The only advice I can give you is you have to have the courage to make the choice to enjoy life. I am sure you know there are happy things that happen all the time. If you look beyond the reason why we live-no one knows. Just enjoying life and riding the wave of life. Accept that you dont know the reasons we live. And focus on the positives. It’s a choice.

    you said:
But why? Why should I? Why should I waste my time if nothing matters anyways?
i agree with you that nothing matters(to an extent) but are you wasting time by being miserable, and feeling bad already?
