rosamundiParticipantTracey – you say you wouldn’t know where to start with meditation. Why not try Matt’s suggestion then: “Consider “Sharon Salzburg guided metta meditation” on YouTube, if interested.”
I was very dubious about trying it, but can honestly say that each time I listen to it, it helps me to be much kinder to myself, and as a result, less sad. What is there to lose by trying listening to it every day for a week?
I too need to ‘pull up my big girl pants’ and stop leaning on others so much. 🙂 It’s not easy, but staying down in the dark pit on my own isn’t much fun either.
Go on, give the meditation a try, even if you’re sceptical. Wishing you well.
rosamundiParticipantOoooo – that glass floor in the CN Tower! It’s a few years since I went up there, but the warmth of total strangers encouraging each other to step out onto the glass was amazing – I held hands with someone I’d never seen before or since, so we could both be brave enough to do something we knew we’d remember.
rosamundiParticipantWhat an interesting thread! Brave question with thought-provoking responses.
rosamundiParticipantThis has really helped me too. In a very similar situation – a job that seems ideal on paper, but doesn’t feel stretching enough, and I’ve been winding myself up dreadfully about it. Katie – your comments especially rang bells for me. Thank you so much. This sentence especially: “The lack of fulfillment has nothing to do with your working conditions, it’s your perceptions of them.” You are so right, I need to look at it differently.
