I have a Bachelor’s Degree and I can’t say it has ever helped me find a job. I wasted 4 years of my life going to college because that’s what you’re supposed to do. Employers care much more about work experience then a degree. Unless you’re absolutely sure you’re working towards a degree you want you’re wasting your money and time. Chances are you’ll end up going down another path that will make that degree pointless.

I suggest web development/programming. All you need is a computer and persistence. There are tons of free tutorials online that will teach you step by step. Look up web development and programming tutorials on youtube. Go to codeavengers and codacademy to get started.
March 2, 2014 at 7:08 pm #52103AmyParticipantAre you sure what you’re studying in school is what you really want?
I was depressed all through college because I didn’t really know what I wanted to do with my life. I was just going through the motions. If I could have that time back I would have taken that time off to figure what I REALLY wanted. You don’t have to go to college to be successful. Unless the field you want to get into requires a degree, college is not required.
If you really want to finish college how about just taking a break for a while then going back when you’re ready?
When you’re depressed try to think out of the box. You don’t have to do what you’re doing now. You don’t have to be who you are now.

I’m 31 going on 32. I spent my 20s with no goals or plans. I went to school, work, home, hung out with friends and basically just lived without much thought about my future. But now I look back and regret the time I wasted in my 20s. I look around and see other people around my age who have a successful career and a bright future and I realize they were working hard and chasing their dreams while I was sleep walking through life. If I could turn back time and go back to my 20s I would do everything differently. I have just now started to take my first steps to turn my life around and I believe it isn’t too late, but I feel like I have to work twice as hard to catch up with my peers.
What I want to say is…don’t waste your life going with the flow. If you don’t chase your dreams now with ALL OF YOUR HEART you will look back 10 years from now and regret it. Your 20s is FULL of potential. Don’t settle for what happens in life MAKE things happen. Work hard, play hard, and do amazing things.
Good luck!
