Joshua, I think you mentioned a very important point: do not rely on FB and Twitter because we don’t own that real estate and are constantly subjected to their changes. It’s important to direct people to email lists, and to have multiple channels for connection so we don’t put all of our eggs in one social media basket. I’ve learned this is one of the most useful ways to direct my energy. And I’m still learning, which is why it’s great to share with everyone here. 🙂

Marissa, that is a great tip! Thank you for sharing, I love it and strongly resonate with it. Writing when we feel inspired and uplifted comes through the computer screen in so many ways – and it’s why we share in the first place! I have felt ‘obligated’ to write at times but then the end result isn’t what I wanted and I don’t want to post it – back to the starting point. 🙂

One of my favorite stories about kindness was at a local Starbucks drive-through. It started with one car offering to pay for the drink order in the car behind them. Then that car paid for the drink order behind them. And so on, and so on. This trend continued for 2 days at the same Starbucks! What a beautiful ripple effect and it touched so many people. Makes me smile big every time I think about it. 🙂

I completely agree about the same basic principles, Lori! It’s been refreshing for me to see it from that perspective because it removes the “better than” perceptions that have permeated humanity for centuries. I feel calm and grounded when I return to the common threads that connect religions – Love, Forgiveness, Compassion, Joy, Peace – and then see those same qualities in each other.

    Hi Barbara,

I can relate to this topic of friendship transitions as we age. I am in a different age bracket than you – 36! – but feel a strong resonance with this experience. I’ve found new friends online through forums, groups, and common interests, and yet it’s not the same as having a friend to go to lunch with or grab a glass of wine with. I’ve heard of many people liking “meet up” groups for new connections. I’ve made the conscious decisions to keep expanding myself and my interests with the trust that the right people will show up in my life who are also looking for me.

    Warmly,

    Molly

I’ve discovered that my purpose in Human Terms changes as I grow and evolve, while my purpose in Spiritual Terms is to be my full Self without holding back anything about my journey, talents or desires. Connecting with everyday joys – gardening, the sun, chocolate, exercise, a good book – is how I find my center regularly, and then I move forward from there. I like change, so this approach works well for me! 🙂
