My older brother has ADHD and has trouble focussing on tasks to see out their completion. it has affected his employment. He said he tried meditation but couldn’t concentrate so quit. Buddhism and meditation aren’t the answer for everyone.

I mean if I didn’t care about social status at all, I mightn’t even comb my hair before going to the supermarket. Caring about our appearance is a form of social status, isn’t it?

No I don’t know Bjork that well. I saw her in a movie once though.

Oh ok now I get it.
Yes I like it very much Anita.

Now another question, this “fight” theme you express. Do you think we have to “fight” for everything in life? Is “fighting” the word you want to use? Is everything a fight?
I know I have an internal fight or struggle going on, most of the time. I think the more aware I am of what is going on, the less I need to fight.
To be honest, I don’t want to see life as a fight? There must be a better word, a better motif for my life. I can see people use it as motivation like a Rocky movie.
But I think a word like “acceptance” might be better for me. “look beyond the superficial”, be careful how you look at anything. Be careful of what conclusions you come to.

I like all kinds especially rockabully, technopump, razzdip, archipelago, aqua blues, cornpop, and folkdiddle.
But I like some of yours including Cranberries, The prodigy and Bjork.
Now the last one is an interesting one, Bjork. She really captures the feeling of depression in my view. Some of her songs are so haunting, I cry. Just utterly beautiful.

Sometimes trees fall on the private and county roads and people are stuck here, and often during high wind the power is out, for hours or longer. The other day a tree fell as I walked by, almost hit me. Before moving here, I thought A Tree falling in a forest was a philosophical scenario (does it make a sound if no one hears it, the tree, when it falls)- I didn’t know trees actually fall in the forest and better watch out.

Anyway, Jack, if you would like to visit… “Jack Visits the Country”, that would be the story. Or “Jack meet Elk”. I can see a book of short stories I will write upon such a visit. How about “Jack in the Forest”. And an epilogue:” If-a Tree falls in a forest and Jack heard it, did it really fall?”

wow, such a wild and primitive landscape. I won’t be going anywhere unfortunately for quite a while, until a steady income starts trickling in again.
can you survive OK financially? Have to kill an elk to eat when hungry? 🙂

The way Glenda prays to God instead of communicating directly to us.
Would a hardcore Christian really come on a Tiny Buddha forum trying to recruit more Christians?
Well, the over the top language lacks all subtlety.

    Pick up your soul
There it is crushed in the soil
Splattered, spilled like blood on sand

    There is your heart
Broken like an old harp left behind
    Who plays the harp anymore?

Look at your face in the mirror
Youth has passed, wrinkles on forehead
The blue in the eyes is gone, now only grey

    Pick up your soul
Who left it in the mud?

If this is love, where is the love?

The you in you has been misplaced, not dead

Pick up your soul, pick up your heart, put the life back into your face-
    Fight, fight for you.

Anita, can you talk about the meaning of this poem?
I don’t quite understand it, ashamed to say.

    yes I agree anita
I think I will start a list too

I need to let go of:

my need to impress my siblings
my need for some social status
my need for certainty about the future
my need to control the details of my life
    creature comforts like chocolate mousse

    some good poems there anita

Luv is a brand name of a dog food in Australia
Love occurs when you get distracted by life
Love is not lust but the two often get confused
Love is not only emotion but it can be a hint of the real thing

    I love my dog
    Now what does that mean?
It means I would cry if he died
His existence gives me a feeling of warmth,
    relaxation and presence
    I love my partner
    Nowe what does that mean?
It means I would cry if she died
Her existence gives me a reason to live
