Dear Chelcie, just a few words. The irony is I believe this is actually you spiritually evolving.
I have family who are devout Christians and if their not arguing amongst themselves which flavour of Christianity is most relevant, they are projecting hate towards people born with a different sexual orientation or worshipping God via other faith systems etc. Despite claiming they are “deeply religious”, they’re actually spiritually asleep. How bizarre is that.
The thing that frequently amuses me, is how at odds much of the Christian religion is actually to the teachings of Jesus. When you read what Jesus said in isolation from the rest of the bible, you can feel it resonate in your heart: Love, forgiveness, tolerance, acceptance, kindness. Note how different this is to much of the bible and some of the crazy doctrine within the church.
The man we call Jesus today did walk this earth and was probably the most spiritually evolved being yet to do so, but remember Jesus did not write the bible. (and nor did God via holy dictation or some nonsense). This was the work of men, who in the early years tried to capture the teachings of someone who was quite frankly on a different spiritual plane. They then tried to fuse it altogether with other doctrine into something vaguely comprehensible. But even then, its so full of contradictions and teachings that are not congruent with those of Jesus, that when you step back as your doing now you see the truth. This is why the Church tries to guilt trip people, because when your shine the true light of reality on it, you see it for it truly is.
However I fully appreciate how unsettling it can be stepping outside the framework your previous church offers, but what I say may surprise you; because I actually recommend you turn to Jesus on your own terms. He is there for you within your heart and let me assure the church does not have exclusivity on God!
I was brought up a Christian and have studied all the major religions and read hundreds of books on spirituality trying to find my way over decades. For where you are right now check out Eckhart Tolle books particularly a New Earth. There is also a wonderful free series of 10 talks by him on Youtube (the Oprah show / New Earth) where you will encounter many people calling in with similar dilemmas to yours and Echart really gets the challenges of letting go of the church. This may be of help to you. Also do not be afraid to check out Buddhism. If you find the right community it can be fantastic and a spiritually enlightening way to live your life.
All the very best
Tim

Assuming you can supplement that with some income straight away, why not give it 6 to 9 months in your new business and see if you are moving in the right direction. In the unlikely event it’s not working out, you still have a few months savings to look for another job and you can hold your head high knowing you gave it go.
Many a person has been lying in their death bed wishing they could tell their younger self to go for it.
Good luck

Not only does it include fantastic guidance on meditating, but his stories surrounding his own journey struggling with meditation will be a great help to you.
Also check him out on YouTube. ( He has many videos) He has a wonderful manner and his voice never fails to raise a smile, which in itself is a powerful tonic when we have had a bad day. You can find him here https://youtu.be/5GSeWdjyr1c
One small piece of advice from me. Whilst meditating try learn to simply be the observer of your thoughts and feelings. With practise you can watch both good and bad thoughts and feelings come and go with some detachment. Eventually you see it’s just part of your brain generating all this nonsense and you can look on without any attachment. Eventually these thoughts and feelings just fade away into the background and your mind becomes a tool to be used when necessary, not something that needs to be going “blah blah blah” all day and taken so seriously.
Good luck

For your personal purpose it can be anything at all and your purpose can change throughout your life. Everyone is unique and everyone has their own contributions to make in life. Reading the above it sounds like your crave some direction, but it has to be your direction, not anyone else’s. Why not try this exercise:
Get in a positive frame of mind and relax. Then think to yourself what could the very best version of you look like in 10 years. (or any other preferred time frame). What have you achieved? What sort of life do you lead? What does your personal life feel like? What would you like to be doing? What would an average day or week look like? Write it down on the paper then put it away for a week, then repeat the exercise until you can consistently form a picture which would make you happy. The happy feeling is imperative here, rather than any factors from outside you.
When you have something your pleased with, think about just one very small step you can take towards this vision and take it. Don’t procrastinate – take it. You have nothing to loose. When you have taken it congratulate yourself and write it down. Put the paper away somewhere and every time you feel lost get it out. Does the vision still resonate with you? If not its fine to change it as life twists and turns, but keep a future ideal vision. You might surprise yourself the progress that can be made towards it.
You mention career choice. Let me give you some advice on this. Find something you LOVE. One of the secrets of a happy life is to find something that makes your heart sing irrespective of any material benefit or expectation from others. (A good acid test is something that doesn’t give you the Monday morning blues!) If you really love what you do, you cannot fail to make a great success of it. Do not sleepwalk into a career simply because of peer pressure, expectation or to make someone else proud. ( I speak from experience here)
In terms of Universal purpose, well I believe it is to strive to better ourselves and to help the lives of those around us. And to be clear by bettering ourselves, I refer to our inner self. Do we default to anger or love? Do we harbour jealousy or goodwill? Are we positive or negative? etc etc. As for impacting the lives of others, there is a whole spectrum of ways to help others – a simple smile to a neighbour can brighten their day, a random act of kindness can reduce people to tears of joy. And giving help is reciprocal – it makes us feel good too and can help us put our problems into perspective when we help people in a less fortunate position than us.
I hope this is of some help to you and I wish you all the best

To manifest something you have to truly believe you already have it.
A suggestion is to make a vision board featuring pictures to represent what it is you desire. Look at it everyday and really feel on an emotional level that you have already received it without any doubt.
Our external experience mirrors what we think and feel

I’m guessing your from somewhere where orthodox Christianity is the norm and whether were concious of it or not, all through our lives were indoctrinated in a belief system which in a nutshell states God created us, runs the show on earth and were his subjects. Therefore your 10 point list is absolutely valid and many of the points effectively destroy the version of “a loving God” most Christians hold dear. The irony is, I find modern Christianity totally devoid of any spirituality and many church parishioners I know appear to focus more on hate towards people who don’t subscribe to their own particular dogma, than matters of universal love, forgiveness and peace. Another irony for me is regarding your point 7, if you take the teachings of Jesus out of the bible and read them with fresh eyes you find his true messages start to shine through…
So where does this leave “God”? Here are a few points to ponder:
- Its established science fact that everything, yes everything that makes up the universe was actually one tiny ball of energy 13.7 million years ago and that everything, including us, is made of 92 known chemical elements. (Yes there are other theories doing the rounds than just the big bang, but it’s irrefutable everything throughout the universe is materially the same stuff). So if everything in the universe is the same as us, why do we commonly think of ourselves as separate and the universe as “out there”? Kick back, clear your head, gaze at the stars and dwell on this point – see what comes through …
- Want proof our conciousness survives bodily death? How about the experiences of tens of thousands of people fortunate enough to have had an NDE or similar. Check out the unedited experiences of real people. https://www.nderf.org/Archives/exceptional.html Too much evidence to counter the brain shutting down argument?
- So moving on, is it so difficult to accept the “Universe” is actually all of us and were part of it – kinda obvious really. I mean were in it, we come from it, everything is it. Even some famous spiritual teacher you might have heard of said “Split a piece of wood, and I am there. Lift up the stone, and you will find me there…” (but it ruined the nice novel some guys pulled together in the 3rd century, so didn’t get included, along with some other inconvenient details)
- So accepting we are all one – aren’t we a clever little universe. I was born, started to grow and evolve, developed Stars and exploded them to make the matter I need for my body, I organised every condition just perfect for life to evolve and voila – I can replicate and grow my conciousness! Grow, evolve, grow – life everywhere. Life like a wave out of my body – experience and grow, return to me, expand my conciousness, grow again over and over, cycle after cycle…
- Oh, but there is suffering – terrible suffering …but it’s “my” fault. Yes just like most of us in the west who have forgotten (and are not taught from birth) about our inherent spiritual nature, we create (or pass on) a lot of our own suffering. On a collective subconscious level we (I) are doing the same. We have to evolve through this by understanding in our material existence that we are the actual universe, we are all connected, interdependent parts of the whole. What we think, do and believe, form part of the collective unconscious and ONLY when enough of us evolve spiritually, can we evolve this realm of existence towards heaven on earth.
- So where is “God” in all this? So we are the Universe, but where did I come from…? What is outside of me? What is this all pervasive love that envelopes me, silently watching me grow and evolve – knowing that no matter what I dream that I am safe, nothing can really hurt me and i’m loved for all eternity
Peace and love thyself – yes really love thyself
