    Hi Ashleigh,

    Go with your gut, girl. Do your own thing. I know it’ll kind of suck to tell him, he’ll be upset, but only you can decide what’s best for you. That’s why they call them ‘choices’. They’re never easy, and someone always winds up upset. As long as that person isn’t you though, you’ve done the right thing.

    Dear Ashleigh:

    Before the trip to Australia- did the two of you agree to travel together the whole length of time, get hotel rooms together and split the cost that way? If you did, you may be breaking a contract you made with him and need to consider doing the right thing. Of course if he was abusive to you- by all means, break the contract (and I mean abusive, not … unpleasant). Again, it depends on if you will be leaving him “high and dry” I think it is called. Was there then a verbal contract before the trip? Maybe it can be negotiated?
