    Hi Sann!
Dowsing is such a helpful tool for me and I love using the pendulum, and though I’m not an expert, here’s my take on things.
I think a huge part of it is practice. I know it took me a long time to really get used to things and build my own little system for the pendulum to work on. Have you tried communicating with your pendulum? It sounds silly, but it helped me a lot to sit and really think about what I wanted it to do. (Vertical for yes, horizontal for no, sideways to the left for maybe, sideways to the right for “I can’t tell you.”) It doesn’t matter what you use for your pendulum, but it really helped me once I figured out my system. For example, you could hold it and meditate on each command, such as clearly stating everything in your head, like “move horizontal and only horizontal for yes,” etc. After a while it should follow those commands accurately.
As far as it giving wrong answers, it’s true that there could be lots of reasons to why it does that. For me I find that if I don’t feel completely clear or open, the pendulum definitely tells me just what I want to hear. This is especially true if I’m very attached to the subject I’m asking about. Really focus on clearing you head beforehand! And it’s true that it can be a wrong time for the answer, which is why I have my pendulum indicate that to me by moving sideways to the right. You can also print out and try a pendulum board! Those are very in depth and helpful in accessing your intuition, though I find using one to be kind of draining as it requires a lot of focus for me.
I would probably start with shorter sessions in the beginning, because I remember getting tired very quickly before I got comfortable with it.
I hope I could help! These are all just from my personal experience, so feel free to fill any gaps in with your own intuition. Good luck! 🙂

    Dear Ella,

Thank you so much for your reply!
And sorry that i didn’t reply for so long..
When i wrote this post, i just bought the new pendulum.
But i was just in the time of having to find an other house, and having to pack up all my stuff, and being there was very stressful, due to the situation with the housemates. So i didn’t feel relaxed at all in that house, so i thought that it wouldn’t be good to start dowsing there. Because i assume it’s better to be relaxed and at peace when you do it, and i couldn’t relax in there. Now in the new house, i also still don’t really manage to relax, and am constantly superstressed because of problems at work. So i don’t know if this is the good time to start with it.
Because of all the stress, i just forgot that i did this post here, and i didn’t see you post for a long time..

In case you read this and if you still feel like answering, i’m wondering about one thing you wrote. The way that you wrote, gives me the impression that you tell the pendulum what to do: which way to move for which answer.. Is that right?
I’m a bit surprised because i always thought that the pendulum decides this. The way i was shown it by a few people is they hold it still and say ‘give me yes’ ‘give me no’ and then see hoe the pendulum moves.

I don’t know anything about dowsing but I was tickled by your thing about asking the pendulum if you should buy it because that’s the kind of thing I do = though I didn’t know about about dowing til I read this that that’s actually part of what it does haha – says yes or no – when I ask things these questions I just hold the thing in my hand and ask it (in mind) and sometimes the thing heats up in my hand really hot or I feel a vibe and that’s my yes. if there’s nothing then it’s a no to me

as you were! I know nuffink so I’m bowing out xx

    Hi Pomplemous,

    Ha, that’s interesting!
So you have your own way of asking questions to objects and then you know if something happens it is a yes! That seems a bit more advanced to me then dowsing, where i buy a pendulum and try to follow the ‘guidelines’. You develop your own way of communicating with things, well done!
How did you come to this?
And, are they random objects, or things you have a special connection with…?

Haha feel free to answer my questions or not, i find it interesting. No need to bow out as far as i’m concerned, but that’s up to you of course 🙂

Thanks for sharing your creative way 🙂
