I just thought I’d share some of my thoughts this morning. While saying my morning prayer, I bust into tears as I always do. For years I’ve been struggling to find my purpose. From a young age I thought my purpose was music. Writing and singing music is something that’s just always been a hobby of mine since I was very young. As I got older I got into some other things such as acting/modeling. As a young teenager I had so much drive and would constantly take acting classes, modeling classes, went on casting calls, did a few extra scenes in movies things like that… But I soon lost interest in that also. When I graduated high school at 18 (Im 24 now) I moved to Atlanta, GA and attended a college for fashion. I withdrew a year and a half later. I then just went with the flow of life working jobs that would get my by and be young and independent. All the while feeling empty after my nights of partying. Now that I have somewhat turned over a new leaf within the past year, I am once again sitting and thinking , what now? What is it that fulfills me? What is it that I am meant to do on this earth? Why do all my days feel like they are just passing my by without reason? After all the thinking, and praying that I do I still have not found the answer. I see young people my age who have seemed to have found their niche and life and are working towards living out there dreams, and I am still struggling to find a place to start. But suddenly a voice came to me after my prayer this morning telling me to just keep trying. I repeated this over and over until finally now I understand the meaning. I think we I, as well as anyone else having a hard time finding what we really want to or are meant to do in life should realize that we aren’t alone. We shouldn’t be so hard on ourselves… I believe the true meaning of life is to live it the best way you can and to always have good intentions. Fulfill your life with the little things that make you happy, do right by others, believe in something bigger than yourself and find a lesson in every trial and tribulation you face. I feel whats meant for us will always come for us whether it be sooner or later. Be patient with yourself and keep trying new things until you find a perfect match. When we find our purpose, we will know.

Sorry for any typos or grammar mistakes. Its early 😉 lol

    Hi Bri,

My take on this is that finding meaning/purpose in our lives is 100% personal. It’s not going to come from an outside source, or rather, it shouldn’t. Sure you may experience something which triggers thoughts of ‘I like doing this or that’. But the thing being triggered is inside you. I make it sound like connect the dots, but in practice, discovering what makes you tick can be quite a challenge. I suggest considering a different take on what ‘purpose’ is. Instead of seeing it as something predetermined or written down somewhere in the universe, just start by looking at it as desire. What do you want? It seems you’ve taken a big step by discovering that you want to live with good intentions, find the lessons in life. This is wonderful news! To me, you’ve hit the biggest nail on the head. What a great pursuit this is to be good to others (and yourself), and learn along the way. What’s more, is that this positivity is picked up by others nearby, and perhaps they have their own ‘ah ha’ moment.

It’s beautiful that something so simple can have such a profound effect on yourself and others.

    Keep it up!

    Hi Bri,
I have learned from your experience that ” The life teach us a lesson for patience “. I also learned apart of it in my own experience. It is great, keep moving forward. We will find our real purpose and happy in our life 🙂
