Im 22 years old and have been through alot of ups and downs in my life.
Im currently in a better state of mind but can’t seem to escape my anxiety,
I constantly feel as though people are looking at me and judging my every move.
My mind races and I also suffer from obssessive thoughts all day every day..
I don’t know how to stop them. I am in constant fear of dying, a loved on dying, or just generally bad things happening.
I always am in fear of the absolute worst happening at all times and can’t seem to
think positive about any situation. It’s driving me insane and ruinging my relationship with my fiance.
Any tips on ways to counteract these negative thoughts and emotions with something positive?

    Hi Jessica,

I can relate to everything you are saying. Just recently my Dad was diagnosed with a late stage of lung cancer.

It seems like every second of the the day it is all I can think about. And I keep thinking negative thoughts.

I’m trying to stay positive but it’s really hard and I find I’m playing this tennis match in my head of good and bad thoughts.

I too would love some help to just stay positive and see the good in situations.

Hi jessica, maybe I can help you. This “invasive bad things” are a way your mind find to keep your “ready” to anything! Think about your fears and do the test: what reality shows to me? Do this exercise every time you are anxious. Don’t fix in your mind you need to be positive, happiness is an exercise too! And with time it happens! Take care!

And Dylan, I am praying to your lovely father. Think you have a good father, it is a bless…and God certainly have health to five to your father. To him NOTHING is impossible.be brave and take care.

    Jessica,

I know exactly how you feel.. I was feeling the same way for so long when I was 21, I eventually sought medical help and was diagnosed with Genarlized Anxiety Disorder very similar to OCD because you have intrusive thoughts without the having to repeat an action over and over again. I was placed on differnet kinds of anxiety and depression medication until I found one that was god sent.. It really changed my life, my relationship with my bf and many other things.. Until I decided I didnt want to take medicine all my life especially cause they are very horrible chemicals. One day I decided I wasnt going to fight it anymore.. I accepted what I had and I let myself understand that what I was thinking wasnt me.. Acknowledge it but dont let it fear you.. When it becomes a fear thats when anxiety kicks in.. A lot of other things are stil helping me, like drawing close to God, and eating more clean.. A lot of food that is processed contains many ingrediants that just make anxiety worse.. One more thing that is very important is drinking a cup of Chamomille Tea everyday or when you feel anxious. I hope this helps hun. There will be good days and bad days but always pray pray pray.. God will show you the light at the end of the day. When it becomes to much.. Cry, its good for you every now and then. Best wishes..

I am now 27 years old and after 5 years of being medicated, I have to say last year was the beggining of a new life.. I can say It has been good and I owe it to God. HUGS TO YOU~

    Hi Jessica,

Anxiety can be difficult to handle. Believe that you can. The most basic thing you can do when you’re having an anxiety attack is to JUST BREATHE. Stop whatever it is you are doing. Stop whatever it is you’re thinking and just breathe deeply. Remind your self: “This too shall pass”.

When you are not feeling anxiety, try to find something to ground your self during anxiety attacks. It could be a good memory, an affirmation, a prayer, a song, a goal… anything that could calm you down positively. This is something that you will consciously choose to focus on during those difficult time. It will get you through.

    Stay strong. *BIG HUG*

    Dear Jessica,

I have struggled with the same thing from time to time – the best quote I have heard to help with this is: “You can’t have 2 thoughts at the same time.’

And that is absolutely true. Try making a conscious effort to replace each negative thought with a purposeful positive…..it really works:)

    Take care,
    Annie
