    Dear Sanita:

Even if he is telling the truth, it is not a good situation for you because he is legally married, and is in a troublesome relationship with his legal wife and he may be in trouble with the law.

You are doubting that he told you all the truth you need to know (“as per his story”).

Here is a scenario where my empathy would be with him: if he knew a child that was suffering abuse, and the only way for him to protect that child from abuse was to adopt the child..

    – do you know why he felt such a strong need to adopt this child?

Hi Anita, thank you for response.

He adopted this child at the age of two from an orphanage. The child suffered from malnutrition and sometimes it is not fed enough. He visited weekly the orphanage and when he knew that this child will be transferred to another orphanage which is far from him, then he made a decision to formally adopt the child.

He provided everything for the child, he is really trying to be good father for this child.

and since the child is already 10 yrs old, so he approach his contracted wife to file for the divorce, then that’s the only time he found out that this woman is demanding for more.

    Dear Sanita:

If I understand correctly he is not living with the woman he is legally married to, and he and his child have been living together for 8 years. If this is the case, I would think that a conscientious court of family law will not separate a child from his father and have the child live with a woman who is a stranger to the child.

    What do you think?

I hope he sees a competent attorney so to understand his situation better. Maybe he already did (?)

If there really is a danger for his 10 year old to be separated from his father because of this woman’s anger regarding him divorcing her, then he shouldn’t divorce her before his child turns 18 or so and is legally free to choose where he/she wants to live. Do you agree or disagree?

You are welcome, Sanita. It is up to you if you stay in this situation; your choice. Post again anytime.
