Hello guys. I write to you to expose you my problem that has afflicted me for years and always worse. Virtually, I have been suffering anxiety for 2 years and since then with psychotherapy, tinybuddha posts and other personal growth and psychology sites I have collected self-help tips that I now see daily and change them frequently. This was at first helpful, but now I can not do it any more and it creates a great emotional discomfort because even in the simplest situations I always think of these things and I can not enjoy the present, both the work and the moments of relaxation . For me it is impossible. And I live with a head-turning problem that I think is due to anxiety and persistent thinking. Do you have some advice? thank you so much

Healing by reading self help and tips is limited. More healing can be done in the context of quality psychotherapy. You posted before and I don’t remember if we discussed your psychotherapy: how long have you attended, what happens in those sessions, what did you learn from it?

Rigidiy, judgment and too much control. The solution of these problem in the last terapy are to be more present, to live the life I want, to love my self and to live the life. Maybe is a problem of overthinking.

Did/ does your therapy address how to be more present, live the life you want, love yourself and overthink less and less?

August 29, 2017 at 8:33 am #166074AnonymousGuestDear Ale:
You wrote: “to improve myself”- that is your goal, to improve yourself. To improve yourself you have to practice improved behaviors. Those improved behaviors are the “how to” I mentioned to you in my earlier post. When you are blocked, practice a small improved-behavior. One tiny improved behavior every time you are blocked will lead to more and more improved behaviors over time, and an improved you!

August 30, 2017 at 3:01 pm #166298AleParticipantIn realty I’d like to live without anxiety. I know that it is a normal emotion of the human genre, but sometimes is debilitant! Orrible and I fell blocked. Now, when I see the world more beautiful and also me, together with a simply life I stay well, but in some moment I fell blocked in my mind and it is difficoult to go out. However I know that I changed a lot in positive and I can live better my life after panic attack
August 31, 2017 at 5:25 am #166352AnonymousGuestDear Ale:
Fear is a normal, natural emotion/ feeling in humans and other animals, necessary for survival. Anxiety is a condition of feeling fear when there is no present danger, it is fear of the past triggered again and again. Anxiety is not an emotion, but a condition. It is a very difficult condition to live with but it is possible to manage it and even to heal from it, over time and work, persistence and dedication and lots of patience. I hope you manage and heal.
Post here anytime you’d like.

September 3, 2017 at 4:14 pm #166806AleParticipantThanks anita…When you start to go in a loop of negativity and you can’t go out so simply is orrible. I learned to convive with this emotion ok. But when I come back home it is like I didn’t enough or did wrong.
In my situation I use a mantra like: live the present, live simply and see the beauty in the world and in myself. In particoular this last sentence helps me to go away.

You are welcome. You wrote: “when I come back home it is like I didn’t enough or did wrong”- I would like to better understand this sentence. Will you explain it to me?

September 5, 2017 at 1:10 am #166970AleParticipantIt is about a state of mind. When you do something and when the day finishes it is like is not enough. If I have to describe this situation I could write: perfection! So in other way when i live focused on the present with the gratitude of what I have and I am I ok with my self. Not now!
Maybe is the change of the season. My terapyst said that the change of season is a “problem” for people that suffer of anxiety!
But for now I’m glad for your help 🙂
September 5, 2017 at 10:10 am #167016AnonymousGuestDear Ale:
A Person cannot be Perfect. A machine can operate perfectly and some tasks we can do perfectly, but we cannot avoid making mistakes. We cannot avoid failing to pay attention sometimes, being tired and inattentive, making assumptions that are not true, being irritated at times and therefore not being loving to another when irritated and so on and on and on. Often enough anxious people think: if only I will be perfect, then I will not be anxious! I did. But it is not possible to be perfect just as it is impossible to be always calm.
Regarding the change of season and anxiety: changes trigger anxiety in anxious people. This is why it is important to set some kind of routine for yourself, do some of the same things at the same time every day. There is calmness in sameness.

September 6, 2017 at 1:01 am #167290AleParticipantI think that the routine is bad for ansious people, because sometimes is like you are victim of life and start to stay in a loop circle.
September 6, 2017 at 8:01 am #167318AnonymousGuestDear Ale:
You wrote that routine is bad for anxious people: what kinds of routine is bad for anxious people?
anita
September 7, 2017 at 2:21 am #167620AleParticipantI’m a student. So the bad routine is a bout study that cause stress! THis is a consequence. However I try to take the study in the smartest way possible
