Crimes and assaults against women are on a rising trend and every other day, we hear about some new case, and this is so disturbing. I recently happened to read this blog, http://www.defencegroup.ca/blog/in-the-news/what-is-a-rape-shield-law/, where there is law called rape shield law, which prohibits the defendant’s attempts to bring up evidence of the victim’s past sexual life, this is to protect the rights of women, who are sexually assaulted, and to prevent them being embarrassed once again in the court room in front of all. I think such laws should be made by all, and more laws like this should be enacted, so that women’s rights and interests are protected.
